The man who created the Wizard of Oz
While there really is no Wizard of Oz, the real man behind the curtain, the creator of this childhood favorite is L. Frank Baum.
While searching for books to read to my son, I came across "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and bought it. We were delighted with the story that included much more fun and adventure than they could cram into one movie. We were captivated and have since moved on to follow still more adventures in Oz!
If you are looking for great books that boys like to read then the Books of Wonder is a great set of series books for boys. These are terrific books for kids whether you are looking for books for reluctant readers or books for fourth grade boy (like mine!).
I am also sharing some delightful quotes from L. Frank Baum that I hope you enjoy. Some are famous quotes and some are inspirational quotations I wanted to share.

- My daughter happened to lend over her voice for the wicked witch in a staged drama for Wizard of Oz in the school. She was admired and praised for the wicked and funny laugh of the witch, a beautiful story filled with imagination and fun.

- I loved the Wizard of Oz. I have to say I only seen the movie and not his book. I will have to read it.

- You might want to mention that his written work is VASTLY different from the movie we all know and love, but are quite enjoyable nonetheless
