Are AudioBooks a Good Read?
Have you wondered what others are saying about audiobooks?
Ever since I started telling people about AudioBookClick.com, people have been asking "But isn't listening to an AudioBook cheating, somehow?"
If you are new to audiobooks or have been reading them secretively (because you weren't sure they were socially acceptable) - I thought you might enjoy hearing what others are saying about this convenient learning method.
Turns out Carnegie Mellon and others have done research showing comprehension levels in audiobook listeners can actually be higher than book readers! Enjoy and let me know who you agreed with, by re-arranging my list or adding to it:

Where Do You and Your Audiobooks Go?
Downloadable audiobooks allow you to listen whenever, wherever you decide!
So, when and where do you do most of your audiobook reading?
I recently saw a women dressed as the Statue of Liberty, standing on a street corner holding a sign (No Really! She was advertising some accounting firm or something). As I drove past, I realized she had earphones in. I wish I had my camera at the ready!
I thought about stopping and asking her what she was listening to - in my mind, as she worked she was educating herself with audiobooks. Though in reality it was probably some Top 40 song, it got me thinking about the different ways people use audiobooks.
Mine is a bit boring: I tend to listen right off my computer.
Since I often work out of our home, I bring the laptop into the kitchen to listen while I cook lunch...and then finish listening while I eat. Most recent reads include business titles (The Long Tail, Permission Marketing...), though I like to re-listen to F. Scott's work, too.
What about you?
When and where do you enjoy listening, and what types of material do you tend to choose?
Or if you are an avid book reader and hate the idea of audiobooks, please feel free to "politely" share your views, as well!

- I love audiobooks. I listen to them when I drive because it makes the traffic less stressful. When I listen to a good book the time passes more pleasantly. I feel like I got more accomplished and I was not on the phone while I was driving. Having an MP3 player phone I never miss a call either.
