My Love For Free
My love for Free started in the late-90s when I started playing guitar. My tutor played me some of the album by Paul Rodgers - Tribute to Muddy Waters. I then went home and listened to Free and Bad Co.
Since then I have all the albums and bought the Free Forwever DVD when it came out. Free is definately my favourite band ever. I love Rodger's voice, Kossoff's guitar, Fraser's bass and then of course Kirke's drumming brings everything together.
If Oasis is the most over-rated band of last century, then Free has to be the most under-rated. I suppose that's what happens when there are so many great bands playing at the same time - Cream, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Led Zep etc. There arev very few bands these days that come anywhere close.
1970 Recording of Free at Hollywood Festival, Newcastle-under-Lyme
37 years in the making
We have got the recording onto CD now and we're sending it off to Clayton. My understanding is that there is video footage of the concert but no audio. So hopefully they'll be able to marry the two together. Fingers crossed.

- One of my all time favs too. I have the privilege to say I saw them live in our small town in Yorkshire(around 1969)before anyone had really heard of them and before they released "Tons of Sobs".. They blew me away and my musical world changed forever. Paul has one of the best blues/rock voices ever
