Decorative Growth Charts For Kids
The traditional way of measuring the height of growing kids has been to mark parts of height vertically up the length of a door frame or section of the wall. But as families move from one home to another (an average family moves 16 times in their lifetime!) or simply want to redecorate their house, those sweet memories of time and growth can be lost forever.
Well, we won't let that happen to you!
In this lens you'll find a selection of free downloadable growth charts to choose from (I'll be adding some of my own designs very soon).
Creating a decorative height chart for your children that can be hung and easily removed for painting, moving or storage is a great alternative to the old method and homemade growth charts can also be gifted as lovely baby shower & young children's birthdays gifts.
You can easily make DIY growth chart at home. All you'll need is a computer, paper, some craft supplies and a little imagination :)
Before hanging, be sure to measure the area from the ground to the measurements on the chart as it will be hung. Keep in mind any stretch of the chart's hanging device, such as hooks or ribbon.
Marking a child's height can be done at any time, or on special occasions, such as birthdays, first days of school or holidays. Here are just a few simple charts you can make yourself for your children or as gifts for others:
When giving as a gift just roll the growth chart around a cardboard paper towel tube trimmed to size, roll up in wrapping paper or fabric, tucking the ends into the tube and tie with a bow.
This is also a fun activity to have with your kids and once finished - have a measuring party! Now, go gather up some kids to measure. Mark their height and the date or occasion. If you make yours long enough, measure the adults as well, get the whole family in there!
Have fun capturing childhood :)
