How To Have A Garage Sale Blowout
We all have old stuff or "junk" as we seem to call it packed away or shoved in a closet where you won't trip all over it. Well why not try an ordinary garage sale? You're most likely thinking that having a sale in your front yard is such a hassle and you won't be able to sell any of your things no matter how hard you try. There are many things you can do to have a successful garage sale, get rid of your junk and make a couple bucks or in the process. By following a couple steps you can make a great and productive day out of your Saturday or Sunday.
First and most importantly, you have to market yourself properly just like an ordinary business does. Besides the regular fliers and creative garage sale signs that your kids can make, try marketing your sale online. Post a couple classified ads for some things that you're offering on popular areas on the net, so that people can view them and know what you have at your sale before they get there. By posting your items online before your actual sale date, you have the ability to have people find items that you're offering and make a decision to buy or not before they get to your house. This will attract a lot more people to your sale then just the ones that were driving by.
Secondly, be careful about your pricing. You don't want to charge someone the same price for an item they can get at a store. Be reasonable and you will earn he amount that you deserve for the stuff you're getting rid of. Along with this, be sure to allow your customers the chance to haggle with you. If they find two items that they like, give them a deal if they want or if you're feeling generous. Remember that the most important thing in this sale is for you to get rid of your stuff without waiting around for bulk trash.
So, don't be lazy over the idea of having a garage sale to get rid of some items that you have no use for anymore. Plan a day on the weekend and prepare to attract as many people to your sale as possible. Everyone has things that they would like to get rid of but it is always better to make money off them then throwing it in the trash.
