Free Downloads for PSP - How To Transfer Your Files
Once you have downloaded your PSP files from the free PSP downloads site there are a couple of options you have, your PSP uses the small UMD disks and also uses a memory stick. We will look at using the memory stick for this example as it is very easy.First of all make sure you arm yourself with a 1Gb memory stick if you can, this will make transferring games, movies and music to your PSP much easier, plus the 1Gb memory sticks are much cheaper these days. You can of course use a 256Mb stick, it will just limit what you can transfer at one time.
Make sure you are using the PSP version 1.5 this is the best software version and you will be able to enjoy all the latest PSP games, PSP music, PSP movies and even PSP TV shows!
Step One
Go to your free downloads for PSP website like PSP Blender and select the PSP games, movies or music you want. Once the PSP file is downloaded onto your computer you are ready to transfer the file to your PSP.
Next plug your PSP into your computer using a USB cable, if you don't have one they are readily available and cheap. Once your PSP is plugged in, you will see an additional drive appear on your computer, this will show up as a removable drive. e.g. if you have C drive and D drive, then your PSP will be drive E.
Step Two
Now that you have your PSP connected to your computer it is time to copy the files across. Select the PSP game you want and drag it onto the removable drive and drop it into the correct folder on your PSP, this is displayed as PSP>GAME, you must make sure the PSP game file goes into this folder or it won't work.
Step Three
Once the PSP game has transferred to you PSP, disconnect the USB cable. Then go to the main menu on your PSP and select GAME and choose the memory stick option.
Next press the X button and choose the newly downloaded PSP game from the list. If you get any errors, just check your firmware is version 1.5, if you're not sure how to, watch the video below.

Downloading To Your PSP Just Got Even Better
Speaking at the Gamers Day event in San Diego this week, SCEA president Jack Tretton dropped hints that a portable version of the PlayStation Store would be coming to PSPs soon. "I think the advent of a long awaited and quite frankly long overdue ability to deliver a downloadable service for the PSP will help us out a great deal," he said. "Hopefully we'll have it out there by the fall."
Yep, being able to browse, download and buy content right from your PSP, especially whilst to in a Wi-Fi hotspot would be pretty smart. There's just one minor thing Sony needs to do first: put some bloody content on the PlayStation Store!! I know that US PS3 users have access to a pretty healthy array of PSOne titles and PSN titles already, but those of us living in Europe are stuck here twiddling out thumbs (or, rather, not twiddling our thumbs) with pretty much bugger-all to play.
I can't believe that it would be that hard to leverage the existing PS3 system into suiting the PSP browser - the trick would be making sure that content purchased via the PSP store would also be recognised on the PS3 store as well so you wouldn't, for example, end up paying for a PSOne game twice. So fall seems a pretty fair time scale, even if Sony hasn't started working on it yet. This will probably also be used as another excuse to upgrade the firmware and keep the incredibly dedicated PSP hacking community at a disadvantage.
Can't wait for this!!
