Great for churches, schools, sports teams, scouts, charities, etc. This is the perfect solution for raising funds in a tough economy.

How It Works

[The photo above shows a sample toolbar. The red area demonstrates where you can do a search. That area is normally white.]
You know how search engine results include "Sponsored Results"? These listings are paid for by advertisers and are a major source of income for search engines. But now your non-profit can earn some of that money!
All it takes is installing a browser toolbar into your Internet browser like the one shown above. You might already have one of these installed from Yahoo! or Google, but basically it's just a thin bar at the top of your web browser that allows you to make a Yahoo! search without having to visit Yahoo! So it's a faster way of getting around online (and includes other useful features, as explained below).
Your organization gets a CUSTOM toolbar, keeping you in the minds of your members while they browse the web. When members install the toolbar, they're able to browse the Internet naturally -- just as they always would. But when they click on paid ads within search listings, your organization earns 10 cents!
Think it doesn't sound like much? Picture this:
You have 100 members who surf the web on a regular basis and agree to use the toolbar for doing online searches. Let's say the average user makes just 5 searches every day, and once every day or two clicks on a paid ad.
That means you have 100 members clicking on an ad every day and a half, or 20 times per month. So each one is earning $2/month for you. With 100 members doing this, you've just earned $200 with no extra work for the organization or its members!!!
Additional Benefits
Or a group could include links to their affiliate programs -- one on Amazon, for instance. So whenever members went shopping online, they would be raising even MORE funds for their group.
Of course the Benefit Bar would also help to brand the organization -- remember, it's customized to YOUR organization, and can include your name on one button along with a link to your site. (If you don't HAVE a website, no problem -- this isn't required.)
There is also the option of a scrolling message to keep members up to date on news, providing them with meeting reminders, etc. However, this is for groups that will keep this up to date so it doesn't become an annoyance!
What's the Catch?
You see, advertisers WANT people clicking on their paid search engine listings and visiting their websites. This is how they advertise to people, and they're willing to pay Yahoo for your visit. With this tool, your group will be sharing the funds that Yahoo earns from clicks.
So the program benefits advertisers, it benefits Yahoo, and it benefits your group without asking anything special from your members.
BUT ... advertisers only benefit if you were actually interested in their listing before clicking on it. So obviously this program does NOT work if people click just to raise funds. Any group that clicks just to raise funds will lose the privilege of working with this tool. The key is to use the Internet naturally, clicking on paid ads the same way you always would. The example I gave earlier was a very natural example that would lead to an extra $200 in monthly income.
ALSO ... the company that provides this tool does incur costs. First, they build you a custom toolbar without ever making a penny from your group. They have web hosting costs and so on. They NEVER ask for one penny from your pocket. But if your group raises at least $50 in a month, then they will take the next $10 ONLY in order to cover their costs.
This money does NOT come out of pocket -- it's simply taken from the organization's check, and is UP TO $10 -- whatever is earned beyond $50 and up to $60. Everything after that is kept by the organization!
If you earn $1000 in a month, the cost is still just $10 for that month, and it still never comes from your pocket.
