Free Instant Credit Reports

I'm sure you're probably aware that with most of the sites offering free credit reports, the deal is that you agree to start a free trial to some sort of credit monitoring service that the company is offering.

This is how they recoup some of the fees associated with compiling and delivering a report.

This is generally fine, and may actually be something that you're interested in. These services will monitor your report and score and let you know if there are any changes to you should be aware of.

But of course not everyone needs them. If you don't, the strategy is very simple. Once you get your report and sample the service, if it turns out that you think you don't need it than simply cancel in the time they give you during the trial period and you'll never be build anything.

I would, however, consider keeping the service if you're in the middle of making a major purchase -- such as a car or a house. This way you can keep tabs on what's going on with your credit during a time when it's really, really important that you don't have any surprises.

But this is totally up to you. Whatever you decide is certainly fine -- and either way, that credit report and score that you got is going to be free.

so these are the basics of what you need to know in order to get your free instant credit report and not get ripped off.
