Free Pattern for the Knifty Knitter Flower Loom

Make a loom flower

• 1With the anchor peg pointing toward you, number your pegs by writing 1 - 12 on the top of the pegs with a permanent marker. Number 1 will be the peg above and just to the right of the anchor peg. Move counter-clockwise around the flower loom numbering the pegs. Number 12 will occur above and just to the left of the anchor peg.
• 2Wrap the end of the working yarn around the anchor peg. This is the peg on the outside of the loom.
• 3Pull the yarn upward and across the loom and between pegs 6 and 7. Loop the yarn around peg 6 and pull it back toward you with the yarn returning between pegs 6 and 5.
• 4Take the yarn between peg 12 and 1 and wrap it around peg 12.
• 5Pull the yarn between pegs 5 and 6. Wrap the yarn around peg 5.
• 6Draw the yarn back across the loom and between pegs 12 and 11. Wrap the yarn around peg 11.
• 7Continue wrapping using this method until you have wrapped all the pegs 3 times. The working yarn should line up with the anchor peg. Wrap the yarn around the anchor peg and cut a 3 inch tail.
• 8Cut 5 feet of yarn in a different color. Thread it through a yarn needle. Attach the tail of the new yarn to the anchor peg also.
• 9From the bottom of the loom, sew up with the yarn between pegs 6 and 7.
• 10Sew down between pegs 12 and 1. Tug gently on the yarn to gather the yarns in the center of the flower and help shape them.
• 11Bring the yarn up through pegs 5 and 6 and down between 11 and 12.
• 12Continue around the loom in this manner gently pulling on the yarn to shape the center of the flower.
• 13After you have continued around once, you will have sewn between each petal of the flower. Continue around once more, sewing within the middle of each petal (sew up in front of peg 1, down in front of 7, etc.) Continue around the loom until you have sewn within all the petals.
• 14Unwrap the end of the yarns on the anchor peg and tie them together on the back of the flower.
• 15Lift the flower off the loom, by gently lifting the petal yarn up and off of each peg. Some flower looms have removable pegs to make this easier.
