Does a Free License Plate Number Search Really Exist?
Been a victim of hit and run? Do you suspect a little mischief in your home when you saw a car pulling out and all you got is the license plate number? Whatever your reason is, you've probably tried googling it. That's what I would do, and I did. Then I found out that there is no free online database that can be used for a license plate number search.
Without this option, most people would just hire a private investigator to do the search for them; this is a good idea as this can provide professional results, especially if you get an experienced investigator, but then, a professional service will demand a professional fee, one that can run to hundreds of dollars.
The next best option for people who can't afford it would be to use online private investigators. Some of them are under one big umbrella group which is able to do searches easily and charges significantly lower. What you can expect in return for your money is the name of the owner of the license plate, the make and model of the car, its VIN and the address of the owner.
Another option would be to join a database site that is used by many private investigators. There is a membership fee for these sites but they are significantly lower than the first two choices stated above. You yourself can do the reverse license plate number search. Unfortunately though, there are no guarantees.
LicensePlateLookup.org
This is a membership site which offers links to other sites that can assist you in tracing a license plate number. We have not tested this site for it's success rate, so you should proceed at your own caution.
