1) Choose and Download a Free Vista Registry Cleaner

In order to get started, you will need to download a Vista compatible registry cleaner. There are many to choose from and the options are somewhat similar. Most reputable registry cleaners offer a free download that will preform a scan of your system. Personally, I like and use RegCure because it's easy yet robust and has worked out well for me. 2) Run a Registry Scan

After you have downloaded and installed your choice of registry cleaners, its time to run a complete scan of your system registry. This will locate all of the the errors with your Vista registry. running a scan is very much an automatic process, just click the button and off it goes.

3) Tell Your Registry Cleaner to Fix The Errors

After your scan is complete, you will have the option of allowing the software to automatically repair all of the errors it finds with your Windows registry. Have a look at the errors that it found and then you can go ahead and let it solve them for you - its quick and easy.

4) Set Up Regular Maintenance

This step is optional, but recommended. Maintenance is just that - it is something that you do to prevent problems and therefore you should expect to do maintenance on your registry regularly for the best results. Fortunately some registry repair software will allow you to schedule this maintenance so that you don't forget. After your cleanup is complete, it's a good idea to set up scheduling for future registry cleans.
