Free Candy Apple Christmas Ornament Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Small amounts worsted weight yarn in red and white
Size H crochet hook
Fiberfill for stuffing

Beg Popcorn St: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, remove hook from yarn and insert in top of ch 3, insert hook in last dc and pull yarn through to form stitch.

Popcorn Stitch: 3 dc in stitch, remove hook from yarn and insert in 1st dc and pull yarn through to form stitch.

Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Rnd 1: (Top of ornament) With white, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, beg popcorn, ch 1, (popcorn, ch 1) 5 times, join w sl st in top of beg popcorn, fasten off (6 popcorn sts and 6 ch 1 sp).

Rnd 2: Join red w sl st in beg popcorn of Rnd 1, beg popcorn in same st, popcorn in ch 1, * popcorn in popcorn, popcorn in ch 1, rep from * around, join as before, fasten off (12 popcorns).

Rnd 3: Join white w sl st in beg popcorn of Rnd 2, beg popcorn in same st, popcorn in next popcorn and in each popcorn around, join as before, fasten off (12 popcorns).

Stuff firmly to top of work.

Rnd 4: Join red w sl st in beg popcorn of Rnd 3, beg popcorn in same st, * (sk next popcorn, popcorn in next popcorn) rep from * 4 times, sk next popcorn, popcorn in joining sl st of Rnd 3, join as before, fasten off leaving an 18" length of yarn for sewing (7 popcorns).

Finish stuffing ball. Weave 18" length of yarn through tops of Rnd 4 and pull to close.

Hanger:
With white, ch 12, fasten off leaving a 6" length of yarn for sewing. Weave in one loose end of ch. Use other 6" end to fasten ch to center of Rnd 1.

Hang from top of ch and let ornament dangle.
