Have Some Extra Time, Use it to Donate to Charity

There are a lot of great ways to donate to charity even if you don't have any money. All you need is the internet and some free time. There are sites ranging from clicking a button to playing a game, from searching the internet to making your online purcheses through their site. It's easy, fun, and rewarding to do, so look through this lens for sites that appeal to you.
I will keep adding more continually

Click to Donate Sites

There are literaly hundreds of different click-to-donate sites in numerous languages. Most of them allow one click per person, per day. It would be imposible to click them all each day so here are a few of my favorites.
The Hunger Site (this one has several different sites within it, allowing you to donate to hunger, breast cancer, child health, literacy, the rainforest, and pets.)

The Ecology Fund (It allows you to donate land to different areas of the world)

Red Jellyfish (you donate to the rainforest and to chimps)

Care2 (this is a social networking site, and you have to create an account, but that is easy and after you do there is a click to donate section. You can donate to global warming, the rainforest, seals, the ocean, big cats, primates, children, pets, stoping violence, And breast cancer every day.)

If you do want to spend all day clicking for charity here is a good extensive list of click-to-donate and other charity sites ( including this one)

Free Rice

Freerice is one of my favorite online games that donates to charity.

Freerice This is a multiple choice vocabulary game that donates 10 grains of rice to the WFG (World Food Programme) for every correct answer. They used to donate 20 grains for each correct answer but they have had to lower it do to the current economic problems.
In addition to vocabulary they have also added a variety of other test question subjects, including chemistry, geography, and basic math.
They have donated more than 63,698,247,070 grains of rice to date. Also they have recently added different subjects so you can answer questions about multiplcation, geography, multiple languages, and more.

Donate By Playing Games

There are many different online games out there. They have various themes and they donate to different charities. Here are some of my other favorites.

FreePoverty This is a geography game that also donates water. It shows you a map of the world and you have to pinpoint where different locations it asks you about are. The closer you get to the exact location, the more water you donate, up to ten cups per answer. So far it has donated 105,285,194 cups of water.

JogoGreen For every 10 multiple choice "green" questions you answer correctly they plant a tree through "Trees for the Future"

Live Search Club After you sign up for an account you can play various games for tickets. You can use those tickets for prizes or donate them to the charity of your choice at the rate of about a penny a ticket. This one adds up money very fast although there is a limit of 1,000 tickets a day.

This shows how to use freerice and gives some interesting background about the site and where the rice goes.

Search the Internet for Charity

Once again there are several good sites with this same theme and it is up to you to see which one suites you best. I usually end up using these three the most.

Goodsearch This site allows you to pick the charity of your choice from the extensive list of charities they offer. Then each search you make(excludin image searches) earns a penny for that charity. Goodsearch is powered by Yahoo!

Searchkindly lets the users vote each week on which charities should recieve that weeks revenue. They donate 100% of their ad money to the organizations. Each page view earns 1/3 of a cent and their are fun subsections like a blog and comment wall that keep you visting. Searchkindly is powered by Google

Causes Download the Causes toolbar from Facebook and choose from hundreds of thousands of charities to donate to. Each search raises a penny

Give by Shopping on the Internet.

There are several different approches to this. My favorite is Igive
When you get to this site sign up and chose your favorite charity. Then whenever you want to buy something online go through igive to see if they offer that store as a partner. If they do (and they have a lot) buy what you wanted as normal for the same price and they will donate a portion of your bill to the charity you chose.

You can also use this same process at Goodsearch
although you don't sign up so it is harder to see how much you have donated through shopping.

Another approch is to shop at a website that automatically donates to a portion of your purchese to chairty. The whole The Hunger Site line sells products through their online store. They have everything from jewlery to clothes to home and garden needs. Or you can donate directly by buying education time for children or petfood for shelters. These donations make wonderful gifts for any occasion.

Send this E-card through The Hungersite

Charity E-Cards

On each subsite for the hungersite (the breastcancersite, the childhealthsite, the literacysite, the rainforestsite, and the animalrescuesite) you can send an e-card to help that subsite's cause. Most of the e-cards just promote the site but at least one on each subsite raises money for your cause. Check out these easy to use, donation generating e-cards.

Give an African family the chance to feed itself with garden seeds on The Hungersite

Fund breast cancer research by sending an e-card on The Breastcancersite

Provide a child with potentionaly lifesaving vitamins at The ChildHealthsite

Help children get the school supplies they need to suceed on The Literacysite

Help protect endangered species at The Rainforestsite

Help save animals in crisis at The AnimalRescuesite
