Free Clown Hat Pincushion Crochet Pattern

Materials
Small amounts worsted weight yarn in white, orange and red
Size H crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing

Size: 3 1/4" tall
Gauge: 2 rounds of dc=1"

Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Top of Hat
Rnd 1: With white, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 5 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (6 dc).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before (9 dc).
Rnd 3: Ch 3,* 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, rep from *around, join as before (13 dc).
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, ending w 1 dc in last dc, join as before (16 dc).
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before (16 dc).
Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in next dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, rep from * around, join as before, fasten off (22 dc).
Bottom of hat
Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 21 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3, fasten off, leaving a 12" length of yarn for sewing (22 dc).
Decorative circles (make 2...1 orange and 1 red)
Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 2, 5 hdc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 2, fasten off (6 hdc).

Sew decorative circles to hat as shown.
Stuff hat with fiberfill.
Lining up edges of bottom with dcs of Rnd 6, sew bottom of hat to top of hat.
