Free Hoss Hat Pincushion Crochet Pattern

Materials
1/2 oz light brown worsted weight yarn
Small amount of gray worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing

Size: 2" tall
Gauge: 2 rounds of dc=1"

Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Rnd 1: With brown, make ring (or ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring. I prefer the "magic ring" method.), ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (12 dc).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before (18 dc).
Rnds 3-4: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off after Rnd 4 (18 dc).
Rnd 5: Join gray w sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 4, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off (18 dc).
Rnd 6: (Work this round in front loops only!). Join brown w sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 5, ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, 3 dc in each of next 4 dc, dc in next 5 dc, 3 dc in each of next 4 dc, join as before, fasten off (34 dc).
Rnd 7: (Work this round in back loops of Rnd 5). Join brown with sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 5, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off, leaving a 12" length of yarn for sewing.

Stuff hat. Weave 12" length of yarn around tops of Rnd 7 dcs and pull to close hole, adding more stuffing if needed before securing hole w a few sts.
