I Get Freelance Writing Jobs with Rentacoder
Rentacoder.com is not just for software coders. Freelance writers also benefit from it because there are TONS of job listings for writers.
As a freelance writer, one of the challenges I am faced with is securing enough work to make a good salary. For me, that means that I need to find work from a variety of sources.
Don't Give Up! I've placed hundreds of bids - eventually you'll get one project, then another, then another... you just need to stick with it long enough to get that first one.My Odds Are Great with Rentacoder
I just completed a string of projects that kept me busy for about two months... and now I'm burned out. Rentacoder is still good, I'm just working on other things.
I'll keep this lens up so you can still learn how to make money with rentacoder.
My Favorite Bid Site
One of my favorite sources for finding freelance writing jobs is with Rentacoder.com. I use it over any of the other freelance bidding sites because I have the highest success rate.
No Monthly Fee
I also don't need to pay a monthly fee in order to be able to use the site and post bids. Instead, they take a commission which I have learned to compensate for in my bidding.
Complete Projects Promptly
The sooner you complete the projects, the sooner you'll get paid. Plus, if you reach your deadline with days to spare, you'll be likely to get repeat work.
Respond Promptly to Potential Buyers
Another tip is to always respond to the invitations you may get to bid. I always thank them for including me, or I'll even place a bid. Once you get established on the site people will start contacting you. Responding even if you aren't interested is a good way to build a relationship there.
Set A Goal - One Bid a Day
Set a goal to make one bid a day, and eventually you will find success. Use my sample bid to tailor your own. Add your own information, but use mine as a template and for the structure. After a while, you will start to develop a bidding style that works for you.
One bid a day is a good place to start. If you find that you can make more bids per day, increase the number.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the comments on my lens. Andy, I agree - there are a lot of jobs that get posted that ask for "professionals" and then they cap a major project at $25! There are some good jobs, but you need to look to find them. tbfrascone, do let me know! Posted August 30, 2007 |
