Freelance Photographer Work - What Should I be Looking For?

Here Is Some Freelance Photographer Work Ideas That Might Help You Get Started!

These are just a few freelance photographer work ideas that you can use to get going. With a little imagination I am sure you can come up with a lot more.

Home for sale magazines and newspapers show listings of homes for sale with photographs. Most real estate businesses have websites nowadays with photos of the houses on them. The agents have to do all the photography work. You can hit all the real estate businesses in your area and offer your services. Charge by the job. This is a good source of freelance photographer work for you and it frees up the agents to work on other things. What could you charge for 20 minutes of photographing a house? How many jobs can you do in a day. I could see anywhere from $200.00 to $500.00 a day on this alone.

You can go to the local schools in the area and get your name in and that you are available to photograph school events, proms, dances football and baseball games etc.. for your fee of course. Even if you don't get hired right away for anything you can go to the events and photograph anyway. This will get you more experience in this area of photography and get you seen. If you are like me by the end of the event you would have probably talked to lots of parents and passed out your business card. You would be surprised how much work you can pick up this way or how many people are willing to buy photos of these events from you . You never know you could get asked more than once at an event if you do weddings.

If you are computer savvy and know how to make a CD you can take the photographs from these events and put them on CD and sell them. These CD's come out very nice and with the right authoring software you can make a great CD. This isn't expensive anymore. In 1999 I went to a seminar about making interactive CD's and to get going it was about $35,000 but with the rapid advance in technology you can do some beautiful work for a couple of hundred dollars or less in software! Keep an eye on my lenses. This will be a lens on it's own.

Sit down with a pad of paper and make a list and I am sure you can come up with many more freelance photographer work ideas that you can do to get your business going!

Freelance Photographer Work You Have To Do

This Is So Easy You Should Be Doing It No Matter What Else You Are Doing

If you can take cool photos like this you should be selling them online. Selling photos online a is great way
to get started while you are getting the rest of your business going. Even after you are established it will put some really nice extra money in your pocket. A lot of photographers are doing this full time and others do it as part of their business along with their other work.

Starting this way is good for you if you need to get more experience with your equipment. It can put some money in your pocket while you are pounding the pavement looking for other work. It is a great way to build up a portfolio if you don't already have one, or to add to your existing one.

There are all kinds of people and businesses looking for photos. graphics designers, game programmers, advertising companies, illustrators, cartoonists, magazines, publishers, marketers and the list goes on.

There are different ways to do it and a lot of different ways to get paid. You have to do some research before you start. I feel the best way to do it is to get paid by the download. The way it works is like this:

Say you just upload 20 pictures to start with and they pay you .30 every time one gets downloaded. So say each one gets downloaded 10 times a day, that's $60.00 a day. This is just an example. What if you had 100 photos up getting downloaded 5 times each a day? That's 750 a day. Like I said above there are plenty of people making full time livings at this.
