Freelancing Guide

Tips on How to Work Less & Deliver more in Your Freelancing Job

Successful freelance workers also start with small business in beginnings. There are a lot of surveys which says that a lot of people are going freelance. Most of them are building business for themselves. However, most people are scaling down their employment to go on full-time freelancing, because it is more convenient and easy to do.

There are a lot of people which had been employed for several years and took part time employment to stabilize their income. Even though an hourly rate is not that wonderful, it was good to know that they have enough money at the bank to pay the rent.

However, it isn't enough for many people now that we are suffering an economic crisis. Many people who are engaged in freelancing find it hard for the first few months because their income fluctuates week after week. Here are some tips on how you can be successful on your freelancing business.

1. Be Specific On Your Aims and Targets

Before you start working as freelancer, find out exactly what you are aiming for. Ask yourself a lot of questions. If this is the right time to cut back on your employment hours, can you afford reducing your wage, how many hours do you need for freelancing, what time of the day do you work best and any other questions that you aim to your business.

It may take a while before you can be confident on your answers. There's no point in talking to your boss until you are confident enough to tell what you want to say about your plan of freelancing.

Once you are confident enough, it is the perfect time to make your appointment with your boss. You know that cutting the hours is a serious thing to ask. Even if your annual review is due within a few weeks, wait until then.

"Be specific with your aims" is a must for every freelancer who are just staring on their business. It will serve as your guide in doing many difficult projects.

It is also important to be honest on your aims and goals. Be sure that your goals in not beyond on what you can do. Having an honest aims and targets will make you more confident on your freelancing job.

2. Be Flexible With Your Time

Being flexible will enable you to do more job and projects. Many clients are looking for freelancers that are flexible to work especially when there are a lot of projects to do. Freelancers must be flexible to be able to do more projects without compromising the quality and quantity of the work.

You should also be flexible with your time and hours of work. You must be able to complete the job even though there are a lot of things to finish. It is also advisable to set your time in every project. You can say that for a certain project, you'll be doing it for three hours only, and then work on another project.

Freelance workers should be able to maximize the time that they need in doing projects to keep them focused. Being flexible with your time will give you more time in doing more projects than you could imagine.
