First Truth in World of Warcraft: "Winging It" Doesn't Work!

Whether it was yesterday or three years ago, we all remember the first day we played World of Warcraft (WoW). Like most, once the software was loaded and you had created your first character, I'm sure you jumped in head first and loved it.

In those first days WoW mesmerized us. The graphics, the intense story line, and never ending things to do. We leveled quickly in those early stages and everything seemed peachy.

However, somewhere around level 20 to 30 you started to realize that there was much, much more to this game then just running around killing monsters (Winging It). Things like professions, talents, faction, gold and most importantly TIME, where all major influences on your success in-game. Now it seemed like, every time you turned around you where running from one zone to the next, trying to make up for what you had missed. Or maybe you picked up a gathering profession and had to return to starting areas to skill up. No matter what the cause, you where losing precious leveling time.

After just so much of this frustration, you decided to venture onto the internet to look for information that may help you cut down on lost time and point you in the right direction. Unfortunately, that probably lead to more frustration. I'm sure you found most of the World of Warcraft information circulating on the internet to be fragmented, out-of-date or biased. Even Blizzard's own World of Warcraft Forums are full of generalized and often untrue facts. So what can you do?

Project: Free Warcraft Leveling Guide is the first series of many Open Source style Free Warcraft Guides. These guides will be created by the suggestions of our viewers and constantly updated by us.

Visitors to the different guide areas are encouraged to participate and share any knowledge about a subject they may have thru the guest book. General to detailed, all suggestions are welcome. Every two weeks, we will compile the ideas and update the guides with the content that is useful and rewarding. One can only imagine, that as the days and weeks go by this is sure to create a valuable in-depth resource. What's best its all free!

First Series: Free Warcraft Leveling Guides

The "Project's" World of Warcraft leveling guides will be broken down into ten main areas. The first being the "Warcraft Leveling Guide" (a general all class/race) guide with tips and tricks that apply to all levels, and also nine World of Warcraft "Class Leveling Guides" specific to each classification of character (e.g. rogue, hunter, warlock, priest, mage, warrior, druid, paladin, shaman).

This guide is the catch all. It will focus on practices, tips, and ideas about power leveling that apply to all races, classes and factions. Examples of the topics this guide will discuss include; "Grinding vs. Questing", "How To Pick The Best Grinding Areas For Maximum Experience", "Level specific Grinding Areas", "Which Instances To Grind", "How to Quest For Higher Exp." and other basic suggestions on choosing a class, race and faction of your character to accelerate WoW leveling.

Class Leveling Guides

The nine class "Leveling Guides" will focus on each of the specific character classifications. In these guides, the topics will focus on how each class can better use their attributes, talents and spells to more quickly level throughout the game. So in the "Mage Leveling Guide" you may find information on "AoE Grinding" and the best areas to use this method. Or in the "Rogue Leveling Guide" you may see user suggested talent builds for quicker grinding. The possibilities are endless.

In order for "Project: Free Warcraft Guide" to work, we need viewers to contribute to the project. I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about in-game knowledge.

Along your way to level 70, I know that each of you has learned techniques, tips and tricks that you use to help increase the experience you gain per hour and ease to which it's achieved. And no matter how trivial or epic you think your methods are, your input into this project is critical.

That is why we ask, that whenever you visit either the general "Warcraft Leveling Guide" or a specific "Class Leveling Guide" you use the guest book to share any tips, tricks or ideas you may have. I'm not asking for an essay or video tutorial (however everything is welcome), just some quick ideas that you would like to share to help improve the information provided within the Guide.

How We Will Reward You

The idea behind Project: Free Warcraft Leveling Guide is to promote the sharing of information by visitors in order to help others. And although we believe this will become the greatest Free Warcraft Leveling Guide Resource available, we do not expect nor strive to compete with the Professional Power Level Guides out there.

The top two professional guides on the Internet, Joana's Horde Power Level Guide and Brian Kopp's Alliance Power Level Guide" are both filled with Video Quest Walk-thrus, step-by-step area and quest pathing If followed correctly, both guarantee the user to reach level 70 in less than a week. Each of these guides has been on the market for years now and are always being updated.

The professional Power Level Guides have a purpose and are very useful. I sure most of you veteran WoW gamers have a copy of one or the other, just as I do. But for newer players, to get an idea of the detail and depth of these guides visit there respective homepages. This can also give you some ideas to what we are looking for in the Warcraft Leveling Guide (-minus all the extras).
