A "FreeMeet" is a way to share usable items you don't need anymore and keep them from going to waste. At a FreeMeet event, people bring portable usable items that they no longer need in their household. You can also take things you can use. Everything is free!
I haven't been to a FreeMeet yet. As far as I know, there haven't been any in my local area (yet). I have been a Freecycle.org moderator in the past. Freecycle.org is a great way to get rid of heavier items like furniture that cannot be brought to a FreeMeet event.
