Cheryl Baxter's story~


Texas - I work in a hospital. I've been an MRI technologist for 14 years. Before that, I did CAT scans & X-rays. I worked 12 hours a day for a long, long time. It wore me out. I wanted out of that field. I wanted to change my career path and my financial future.


My Start In Network Marketing


For years, I looked at a lot of different possibilities and settled on a company in January, 2001. In 3 months, I made Executive. But it was a Stairstep Breakaway compensation plan. Anytime you'd get someone to the Exec level, they broke away from you. Instead of earning 12-14%, you were down to 6%. I guess I thought all MLM comp plans were the same. Since Michael, I've learned a lot.


I promoted that company for a couple of years without much success. I called 150 leads a day. My upline said I wasn't calling enough people. They said I needed 20 live contacts a day, minimum. And I really ought to do 30. And they were real postured in how they dealt with people and the script that they used, just blowing through people. They weren't much for follow-up.


They said they came from a service viewpoint, but it wasn't true. If somebody didn't get into their deal RIGHT NOW, they'd just blow past them and call the next 100 people. I was never comfortable. But the top people in the company said "This is what you do." And I figured they knew a lot more than I did.


Everything Changes

Last summer, I had the good fortune to meet Scott Thompson on a generic leads call. I could tell he knew some things I didn't know. I figured if I aligned with him, I could do a lot better. After a couple months, I twisted Scott's arm to tell me what he was doing.


Through Scott, I met Michael. And I started having success, pretty much overnight. I listened in on the calls. That made a big difference in how I deal with people and build relationships.


Everything changed. When I started, I thought MLM was sales. But the fact is, you're asking them to join you, not your company. You don't come at people to sell them. Scott & Michael truly come from a service point of view. The approach is wonderful. You treat people with respect. You find out if you can help them. "We're not trying to make OUR dreams come true. It's what YOU want!"


Starting in network marketing is tough for most people. Big learning curve. But with people like Michael & Scott & Dave Cones, the whole group, their approach, I've seen people I brought in who quickly gained confidence and got comfortable.


It took me a long time to get comfortable on the phone. I was scared. But Michael's approach is so much easier. And your prospects see that. They see it's something THEY can really do. They have a team of people who believe in them and support them. The difference is night and day.


In my first network marketing company, I sponsored 20 people in 2 years. With Scott & Michael, I sponsored 24 people in the next 4 months! And in that first company, you had to stay strictly within your sponsored group for training. You couldn't go to your Big Upline Kahuna for information or help.


Michael Makes a Phenomenal Offer


We get people from a bunch of companies or groups on the calls. It doesn't matter if I sponsored them or Scott or Michael or Dave or whoever. We have a lot of amazing leaders. They all help anybody. You can do that when you have a long-term viewpoint.


Michael is one of the most genuinely giving people I've ever met. He's very intelligent, very, very experienced in MLM. He talks about how he & Linda failed forward for 12 or 13 years until they learned how to do it. And of course, he didn't have a Michael to help him. That's why it took them so long.


When I explain our system to people, some will say, "There must be more to it than that. What's the payoff for you? I know you're going to ask me for money." But we don't.


We'll train you as long as you want. If what you're doing works for you, great. More power to you. We'll help you any way we can. But if you find that what you're doing isn't going to work the way you wanted it to, then we'll share our opportunity with you."


I don't ask my people to do anything I won't do. But it's tough unless they're on the training calls. They don't have to be on every one of them, but they need to be on them regularly.


The Saturday evening training is phenomenal. Sometimes you have 20 or 30 different companies. I'll call someone and they say, "Oh, I'm really involved. I'm not interested." I can say, "Great. Hope you do great with it. But we have something that might help you. If you want me to add you to my email list, I can do that and let you know about our trainings."


They usually say, "Sure, that'd be great." So I email people details of Saturday's training and ask them to call back if they want to be on the call. Every week I get 2 or 3 people respond and get on the training call. It's just one more way to help build your business.


I don't believe I've ever been in front of such a huge opportunity. The timing is crucial. Those in our team who diligently work at it can have whatever kind of income they want. Combine that opportunity with the team approach and the mentoring and training, and you can't beat it.


I'm not saying the 80-20 rule doesn't apply here. But once you get someone into our mentoring program, really involved, I think you have them for life. I have a bunch who are actively working the business and on the training calls regularly. I feel so fortunate to be connected with Michael & this whole team. Michael's a super guy, a very interesting character.
