Free Navy Hat Pincushion Crochet Pattern

Materials
Small amount white worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook
Small amount fiberfill stuffing

Size: 1 1/2" tall
Gauge: 2 rounds of dc=1"

Note: Weave in ends as work progresses.

Rnd 1: Make ring (or ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring. I prefer the "magic ring" method), ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3 (12 dc).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before (16 dc).
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, fasten off (16 dc).
Rnd 4: Turn work upside down and, working into the front loops only of Rnd 3, join yarn w sl st in 1st dc, ch 3, 2 dc in next dc,* dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before (24 dc).
Rnd 5: Ch 2, hdc in each dc around, join w sl st in top of ch 2, fasten off (24 hdc).

Bottom: Make ring as for Rnd 1, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3, fasten off, leaving a 12" length of yarn for sewing (16 dc).

Fold Rnds 4 and 5 up around hat to form brim. Stuff hat. Sew bottom to hat by lining up back loops between Rnds 3 and 4 of hat and dcs of bottom.
