A New Wiki!
From here to there
The traffic I've been getting to this lens is quite phenomenal, and so I've decided to "expand" a little. Don't panic, this list will still be updated from time to time, but the majority of the info will now be on the new FOMG Wiki. A - Stand-Alone Games

A1 - Runescape
3D, 360 Degree View
The mother of all browser-based games, Runescape has been around forever. Create a character, level up, develop new skills, explored uncharted territory, make friends, do quests, battle players, the possibilities are endless. There's always something to do in Runescape, and there's always new things being added. If you haven't tried the game before, this is where all people new to MMORPG gaming go first.Other Helpful Info:

A2 - Ikariam
Graphical Interface
Ikariam is very much an empire-building game, but it surpasses so many other games in it's genre that it deserves to be in this list. The wonderful graphics, the excitement of crushing your opponent, and the vast possibilities available to all players. If you are looking for more than your average empire game, this is the game for you.Other Helpful Info:

A3 - Travian
Graphical Interface
Travian is very much an empire-type game. You start with a village, expand it, and conquer other players. The graphics of this game make it stand out, though, and the interesting design of gameplay. Another interesting aspect is the fact that there are different places to travel. You can go into the forest of your island to chop down wood to build things, or go to the seaport to travel in your ships or fish. You can also trade with other players via a market on your island. Players play on a large map and it takes time to attack other players as opposed to other games, where you can attack anyone and everyone whenever you wish. Strategies come into play as you have to dodge attacks from other players and crush your opponent at the same time. There's always excitement going on in Travian.Other Helpful Info:

A4 - Dragonfable
2D, Side-Scrolling
Dragonfable describes itself as this: "DragonFable is an animated fantasy RPG (It has Dragons!) that you can create a free account and play using your web browser."That sums up the game quite well! The graphics are 2D, and you walk back and forth across a map, going into different portals to access other maps. There's constantly new information being added into the database, and the game follows a sort of storyline that all players are involved in.
An increasing amount of people are joining Dragonfable every day, making it more and more popular!

A5 - Adventure Quest
2D, Side-Scrolling
Adventure Quest, next to Runescape, is by far the most popular browser RPG game out there. Thousands of players have joined and play this single-player RPG game. Create a character, customize him/her, and take your character on a journey you will never forget. There's always new things to do, and an ever-changing world makes sure that there's something new to do every time you log on.Due to the popularity of the game, Adventure Quest has also released a popular sequel to the game: Adventure Quest Worlds. The new game allows players from across the nation to come together and fight against evil monsters. It's the closest thing to Runescape, and is ever-evolving.

A6 - Sherwood
3D, 360 Degree View
Sherwood is a rising star in the world of browser-based MMO's and has a lot of potential to be the next greatest thing. Sherwood is not your average game. You create a character, and although it is not entirely customizable, it has enough choices to make you stand out from the crowd. You then are tossed into a massive world, and you can explore freely.Combat isn't turn-based as in other games. You press a button to attack a creature. This eliminates chance and begins to give you a basis on skill. A low-level player can now easily destroy a high-level player with the right amount of skill and timing.
With new maps to explore and the game constantly evolving, this is a gem to keep your eye on!

A7 - Tribal Wars
Graphical Interface
I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this game, so I decided to check it out. Now I'm hooked. Tribal Wars is an empire game, but based on the diplomacy of making tribes and alliances. Despite the rather steep learning curve at the beginning of the game, follow the in-game tutorial and you'll soon be on your way! There are hundreds of possibilities for your village, and the potential of the game in general is overwhelming. If you haven't tried an empire game before, I would highly suggest this game.Other Helpful Info:

A8 - MechQuest
2D, Side-Scrolling
Pilot your very own mecha and save the world! Although this is a rather cheesy line, it's the general truth of MechQuest. You create your own mecha, and then deck it out with weapons, shields, grenades, weapons, and much more to conquer the world! Complete quests, fight monsters, and make yourself famous! All this and more in the world of MechQuest.Other Helpful Info:

A9 - Tactics Arena Online
2D, Isometric
Tactics Arena Online, or TOA, describes itself as this:"Enter a world of fantasy and legends. Tactics Arena Online calls upon your skill and valour to rally a heroic force and destroy the enemy in battle. Wage strategic warfare with a team of specialized warriors and mystical creatures at your command. Design a custom army from a wide range of fighters or mages, and unleash the fury of beasts and mighty golems to dominate the battle arena."
That sums the game up nicely. You control a small army and then partake in battles with other players to increase your fame and your experience. The game is true strategy, so skill is involved instead of strength or numbers.

A11 - Tribal Nations
Graphical Interface
Tribal Nations is a free, massively multiplayer online role-playing strategy game. Start as a lowly peasant, and through skill and perseverance, you may end up finding yourself as the ruler of a nation. This game is designed in a sort of tier-system, so that you can literally see yourself rising through the ranks. You'll gain new privileges, be in charge of more people, and take on more responsibility. Control everything from politics to economy to the farming locations of your tribe and grow it to become larger and more steady. B1 - Instant Action
3D, Highly Graphical, Multiplayer
This site above all else deserves to be first on this list. If you go to no other gaming site for the rest of your life, visit Instant Action. This site consists of 3D, first-person, multiplayer shooter games. It consists of Tank Wars with futuristic weapons, big explosions, and lots of fun. Another game that stands out is Rokkit Ball, a customized game from Instant Action. It's a futuristic sport consisting of rocket launchers and armoured players. This is the future of online gaming, so don't back down, but check it out and see what the revolution has.Other Helpful Info:

B2 - Kongregate
Mini Games, Level System, Chat
Kongregate stands out among other gaming sites because of it's unique character. Instead of playing games mindlessly until you're bored again, Kongregate has a level system where if you achieve certain goals in games, you gain experience points and then raise in levels. New things are unlocked when you level up, making you want to level to the next tier. In every game there is also a chat box in which every other logged in player to Kongregate can talk to you and you with them, so if you're waiting for a game to load or for a line of creeps to go by, you can chat with players playing the same game as you. This is truly a revolutionary idea in online gaming.Other Helpful Info:

in reply to jp1978 Great idea, thanks for the input! I just realized that a couple of the games have bonus options for payment, and people would probably be interested in that. Thanks again!

Hi, maybe you can add information about whether the games are totally free of charge, or free to try, or free to play but with paid content, etc. Interesting lens for people looking for a few hours of diversion
