What some fantastic ideas! It just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune on toys to keep the kids entertained. I'd love to add some of the ideas to my toy site e.g how to make the pirate hat, or anything that's not too hard to make if this is possible?
  • KarenTBTEN Mar 10, 2010 @ 10:50 pm | delete
As a child, I liked making paper dolls and animals (ie The Hundred and One Dalmations). I never did learn to fold a paper airplane -- folding is not my forte.
  • lasertek Feb 10, 2010 @ 8:37 pm | delete
This lens reminds me of the good old days. When I was much younger, me and my dad usually make paper toys following the instructions inside a Chinese Origami book that we own. We couldn't understand Chinese that is why we oftentimes make mistakes and have to start all over again. 5*

What a fantastically large collection of paper toy resources you've gathered, Pastiche! Lovely. I'm a great fan of making paper hats and masks, myself. A friend of mine made a whole dinosaur head costume piece -- with teeth and a red tongue, spikes and everything -- for her 4-year-old son once. Of course, then he growled and chased her around the house with his fearsome "claws." Paper can be so exciting! Favoriting you and giving 5 stars. Thanks for a great lens.

I have recently been contacted by Guinness about my collection which is pretty exciting.

I used to play paper dolls all the time. It was my favorite activity. I used to spend the summers with my grandma and I didn't have any barbies so I we would make paper dolls using magazine cutouts and paper towel rolls. Very creative lens! Thank you for sharing. I'm going to lens roll this to my Daycare School Activities lens! 5 STARS!!

I loved paper dolls best when I was a little girl. I got to play with my mom's from the 1930's and 40's. Still have them somewhere. Now I like to see how I can get the same look digitally using Photoshop. Or now I play paper dolls by buying clothes in Second Life. Great lens! Lots of ideas. 5*
