Royalty Free Photographs of Butterflies
Over the last few years I have had considerable help from a number of photographers in creating websites when I did not have suitable photos to use. equally I have used lots of photos here on my squidoo lenses that have been placed on the public domain.
Although I am nowhere near being a professional photographer, I have taken quite a number of photos and on this lens I supply a number of them royalty free to anyone that wishes to use them for illustrative purposes on the internet.
This lens provides royalty free photographs of butterflies for use on squidoo lenses, blogs, websites etc.
A Few Terms of Use
2. Please do not reprint these butterfly photos on products/merchandise intended for sale.
3. Please do not use these butterfly photos for printed material without contacting me first. Just ask, I am almost certain to say yes, particularly for use by teachers and students.

Thumbnail Photo Galleries
All the photos here are thumbnail versions, just click on them for larger images. I used thumbnail galleries because I thought it would take too long to upload them all here (I already had them uploaded on another website) and I thought it would make this lens too long and unwieldy. This way I can display all the photographs in a concise fashion.
Those who want to know how to create thumbnail galleries like these should take a look at the following lens.

Butterfly Conservation
If you are a UK based butterfly lover you should really think about joining butterfly conservation. This is a really fantastic charity which does a lot to conserve and re-establish butterfly populations throughout the United Kingdom. Not only does butterfly conservation own reserves, it works in partnership with other conservation bodies, the government and private landowners to ensure the success of butterfly colonies.Butterfly conservation sends its members a very interesting magazine (I always read mine) which talks about success stories, where conservation measures are needed and gives details on various species.
This is a charity well worth supporting if you are a butterfly fan.
Check out the Butterfly Conservation Initiative if you are a North American butterly lover.

A special thank you to Kab for answering my question on Squidu about how to display html code on a Squidoo lens. The answer was found on the following lens.

How do I add symbols and special character to my lenses?
-
Do you ever want to include odd characters in your lenses but don't know how? Or want to show HTML markups in a tutorial lens? This lens shows you how to do that and includes lists of the most useful characters.
