Free Printable Baby Shower Games!?

If you are here you've probably been where I was before. You know, those goofy games that baby shower throwers get you to play when you come to the shower.

I know, they are supposed to be a kind of ice-breaker, to get your guests out of their daily patterns, loosen up lips and get the party started.

But really, one of my best friends had a game with clothes pins. I can't even remember the rules very well but we were supposed to add or lose a pin every time we broke the rules of the game and the person with the most pins or the least pins or something like that was the fool at the end.

Honestly, I never got the point of the game and it just seemed like such a distraction from having fun, talking, eating and giving the gifts. I know that everyone else looked as confused as I was about the dumb games so it looked like a waste of time to me.

My experience with this was disappointing. I spent hours searching for something fun, interesting and quick. I am a working mom with two kids (and another one on the way), and I didn't have time to be searching for all this "free" stuff.

What I needed was a shortcut, so when I directed my attention on that goal I found this great collection of printable baby shower games.

It was so cheap and looked like it had a great variety of games available. And so simple... credit card out, a few mouse clicks and I can get back to using my time for more important things. That worked for me.

Printable Baby Shower Games - My Book Recommendations

I also found another great source of games when I was asked to plan a baby shower for my cousin. She and I are very close so I wanted to do a bang up job.

Just throwing a bunch of our women friends and relatives in a room together is probably enough to get a lot of chatter going quickly but I wanted MY party to be a memorable event, not just the same old stuff.

I've found these books to be very valuable for coming up with unique baby shower games (even though they are not free).

Joan Wai, the author has compiled and categorized over 100 fun and interactive baby shower games. This book is especially useful for coed baby showers. The games are grouped in categories like memory word games, sit down games and interactive. A good choice to quickly assemble a variety of fun activities.

Baby Shower Games: Fun Party Games And Helpful Tips For The Hostess
Sharron Wood has put together a visually attractive collection of copyable games in her book. With colors, graphics and other enhancements the busy baby shower hostess could literally run down to the copy store and run a few dozen copies of any of these pages and have her guests smiling from beginning to end.

Hi Carolyn, well if your read my story above I tried that too and spent waaayy too much time trying to find something good...and didn't find any. Just try the suggestions above and save yourself a bunch of wasted time and effort.

Hi Simone, I think the best way to respond to your question is to truly focus on the character of the mother (and father!) in an attempt to connect with the heart of the family that the child is entering into. You yourself know when something is truly heartfelt and I'll bet you remember them best.

well i would love know how to throw a big and pretty baby shower. I would like if you could give me some good ideals about the baby shower? I want to alot of baby shower but all the baby showers I want to they were all the same and they all had the same kind of games. So what should I do different?

It's All about the Mother and The Baby

May I talk seriously with you for just a moment?

In the mad rush of the pace of the modern world we sometimes forget about the meaning of what we do. As the new mom's friend or relative we rush about madly trying to find the perfect games, invitations, gifts, table settings,invitations, food, etc. We are perfectionists, after all!

But think back on the moments in your life that made the biggest impression on you, I'll bet it wasn't because of the price of some object you received or a fancy vacation destination or any other material concern. No...I'll bet it was a moment when someone declared their love for you in a way that made you feel connected to them and to a greater spirit of love.

Oh, I'm not saying don't do a great job of hostessing and buying the best stuff for your baby shower. Just don't forget what is waiting to live through all of your great effort and trouble...expressing your love and support for the mother and her new dear friend that she is bringing into the world.
