Free Spice Jar Cover Crochet Pattern

Materials:
1 oz. worsted weight yarn
Size G crochet hook
3 1/2" tall spice jar
Button for embellishment

Gauge: 2 rnds dc=1"

Bottom:
Rnd 1: Make ring (or ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring. I prefer the "magic ring" method), ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st to top of ch 3, pull ring closed (12 dc).
Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in same dc, 2 dc in each dc around, join as before (24 dc).
Rnds 3-9: ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before (24 dc).
Rnd 10: ch 2, hdc in each dc around, join w sl st to top of ch 2, fasten off (24 hdc).

Lid Cover:
Rnd 1: Make ring, ch 2, 11 hdc in ring, join w sl st to top of ch 2, pull ring closed (12 hdc).
Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in same hdc, 2 dc in each hdc around, join w sl st to top of ch 3, fasten off (24 dc).

Weave in ends. Glue jar lid cover to top of jar. Glue button to center of lid cover.
