I used to sell online at Blujay with a free store without any hidden costs or fees. This is a modified lens of my experience with Blujay over a 2 year span. Currently I have found a new home on Atomic Mall. Checkout my new Atomic Mall storefront and lens.
I used to recommend Blujay.com as one of the premier places to have a totally free online store. I can no longer in good conscience make that recommendation. Currently I sell at Atomic Mall due to active owner involvement and awesome site updates. Blujay has no listing, store, subscription or final value fees when an item sells and is very easy to list at. I experienced great success at Blujay until March of 2009 when Google Base Feeds were no longer submitted by the owner/s. This hurt traffic considerably and my sales became nonexistent. This doesn't mean you wouldn't get any sales there. Time is money and promoting on various places like Squidoo, etc gets time consuming. Blujay needs changes made that haven't been done. Most sellers sell at more than one place anyways so it wouldn't hurt to list for free here but Google doesn't like duplicate items so if you are using a site that submits feeds, Google may view your Blujay listings though not in shopping as duplicates and reject all of your items. In the scenario the owners magically appear and start submitting for you as well you could be penalized as well if selling the same items at another site.
Be careful in the forums. Trolls and spammers seem to have made a home there that are either problujay or those that are on the other spectrum. Unfortunately the owner/s will not ban ip's or close stores of individuals selling counterfeit goods, porn and spamming the forums. I was a moderator there early on and never once did the owner/s respond back to any emails since 2008 so if you have an issue and email Blujay. 99 percent chance you will not get a response. This is brutal honesty from a huge blujay fan and promoter at one time. If Blujay's owners ever decide to put effort into the site again it would be a great place to use and I would recommend it again. My experience along with other sellers who have left the site for the same type of reasons does not necessarily mean Blujay is a bad site and you can't be successful there. Everyone's mileage varies and this is only my review of the site throughout a 2 year span.
Some Hints for a more successful Blujay Store
Leaving this up for Blujay members trying to get traffic from GOOGLE
Remember when you sign up for your store that your username will be your store name so choose something that could reflect what you sell. You can have as many stores as you like so you can sell certain items in various stores if you desire. When you fill in the about ME PAGE, use the first few lines to use keywords/what you sell. This is picked up by search engine spiders and save the personal information for later on in the paragraph. Make sure your item titles are spelled correctly and are descriptive without a lot of punctuation so that those searching the web can find your item. Make sure you fill out your Sales Policy and I find that accepting Google Checkout, Paypal, and USPS money orders offer easy and secure payment choices.
Since all free sites don't have the advertising to bring sellers in like Amazon and Ebay you should promote your store to pick up extra traffic/sales. I suggest at the bare minimum starting a Squidoo lens about your store, and either joining a few google and/or yahoo selling groups, etc to help bring in consistent sales. You get out of a site what you put into it. There are numerous other promoting techniques such as Kaboodle, My Space, etc but I am trying to keep it simple.
You should always submit your store and all promoting urls to the search engines. Then resubmit at least 2-3 times a year. This is self explanatory since you don't want your pages to be considered outdated. Don't submit to often or it can cause you to be ignored by search engines for spamming, etc. You can submit directly to Google, Yahoo, and MSN but there are other sites that submit your urls to various engines and I use a free one called submitexpress dot com.
Check into the blujay forums and don't be afraid to ask questions and read about how those that are successful are making regular sales. This helped me out immensely and now I am trying to give back to others. You can also email former buyers and let them know about your new home. Blujay allows link and HTML. Blujay has a very simple listing format and is done using only 1 page.
If anyone has any questions about blujay and/or thinking about starting a store there, I encourage you to visit Blujay and explore the site.
August 2009: I had no sales from April 2009-Sept 2009 due to no Google Base being submitted by the owners. I sold over 100 games and items from May 2008-April 2009. I have left Blujay for this reason. Your mileage may vary but considering how much I actively promoted the site and saw no owner involvement or site updates as promised in 2008 I can't recommend Blujay anymore.

- I will remove all Blujay stores off the list. It would be nice if you would follow appropriate channels and contact me instead of submitting anonymous comments. I deleted the first one from another user and may have not been you but in respect for those still selling there. I will modify the lens as well to just show my experience with Blujay. My experience is factual and has relevance to anyone looking to start a store at that place. I don't plan on going back to the Blujay boards and dealing with any nonsense there. Too much drama for me. If you would have asked to remove your store I would have. There is a contact lensmaster button on the page. Wish you luck.

- It would have been nice if current sellers who actually are selling on Blujay and have their stores listed here were notified that you were changing the lens rather than get blindsided. I will be submitting a request to take my store off this lens. This is not doing friends a service. Business is business so you need to move on. These kinds of favors, as a business I can do without. You might want to notify others listed here that this is not what they originally signed up for so they have a choice to remain listed on this lens or not.

- Blujay has went downhill in the last 4 months. Primarily with limited or intermittent google exposure. Very informative lens though Howard.

- Useful information. I have sold a few things on blujay.com/robchirp by having ebay customers go to the site for some of my items. I just need to figure out how to promote on the web better I guess.
Thanks for the info. Good job.
