This free web host I'm referring to is no other than 000webhost. They offer a wealth of features that enable their users to realize their dream web site with no cost at all.
For a price of $0.00 you get, 350 MB of space, 100 GB/month bandwidth, 5 add on domains and subdomains, 2 MySQL databases, 1 FTP account, backups, cron jobs, custom error pages and PHP support.
I'd like to highlight that the PHP and MySQL support has no restrictions, and that a backup can easily be secured anytime and is done automatically by the server every 30 days.
Note however that no matter how great the features they implement, you'll have to agree with their Terms of Service to prevent suspension of the account.

Could we trust 000webhost?
Unlike a few free web hosts who provide excellent service, then suddenly change their terms, this one's different. They've outlined their business plan in their website to cast away the doubts of their users.For one, they own (or they are also) a paid hosting company. This gives them good financial grounds. The company has 4 years of experience in free hosting, and over a year of experience running as a free web host and they guarantee that hosting will remain free "forever". This also allows them to host sites in their own servers, making customer service fast and effective. This has been proven with my experience in their forums.
000webhost also accepts donations from satisfied users, and earn from paid upgrades if a site from their free web host service ever wishes to expand thus providing them with a more solid financial backing.
So what's the hitch?
The only cons I've noticed so far with the service are the mandatory login every month to maintain the account, and the placement of an analytics code at the bottom of every web page hosted. It causes some errors, especially with web standards (W3C) and also causes slowdowns on page loading at times. When you view the source, it would look like this at the end:
