You can monetize your blog, website or lens by publishing advertisements related to your site and page content.
The most popular ad publishing network delivering content-based ads is Google. Yahoo and Microsoft use a similar search results model to select and deliver content-enhancing ads to your pages. I'm a big fan of Google - I use Adsense formats on all my blogs and web sites with excellent results. I use Google search to enhance the visitor experience on my web sites while also generating income.
There's another content-related ad service you can try if you want to make money with your blog or web site. Chitika serves targeted ads based on the user's original keyword search string. The same search words that brought a visitor to your blog or web site define what ads (if any) will display on the page.
Search Targeted Advertising for Your Blog or Web Site
Ads relate directly to visitor searches
The Google Adsense and other content-related advertising programs work well for publishers who want to enhance page content and earn money with their blogs and web sites. Squidoo uses Adsense positions and shares revenue with lensmasters. I also employ Google search to provide additional content and to generate income on my web sites.
But what about the search that brought a visitor to your page in the first place? You place format codes on the pages of your web site or blog in the positions you want to monetize, then the ad network will serve ads directly related to the original search keywords or phrases that attracted that visitor.
The Chitika ad network does just that -- it employs search string technology to serve ads on the landing page.
How Chitika Works
The Chitika network serves ads that are keyed to searches - the ads are directly related to search strings that visitors typed in to reach your page. It has similar controls and ad formats to Google AdSense, and it has features to allow you to serve your AdSense code if there aren't any relevant ads to show.
