So you have a website but its not quite what you thought it would be. Maybe you found the cms you are going to use so all of your backend work is great, the site functions, does everyhthing you need and more. The problem is that it doesn't really apppeal to you, its missing something.. You might need to make it look a little different. Why not try out a few different themes.

Themes and templates are what gives your site the look and feel. No matter what you have going on in the background or how many functions your site does, if people don't like the look, then they might not stick around. I don't mean to say that looks are everything, but a good looking site doesn't hurt.

If your cms is drupal try some Free drupal themes. This site has a large assortment of free themes to choose from. The best part is that they don't ask for a link back, (at least the themes Ive used) .

Maybe you have looked for your perfect theme, but can't seem to find the right one, its not wide enough, or not enough regions, you don't like the color scheme. Whatever the case is you might consider trying to develop a theme yourself. Learning Drupal and its theming functions might be what you have to do, otherwise you might want to call upon an freelancer and hire it out. For those of you with little cash though trying to develop your own theme isn't all that bad. Drupal.org has tons of info on the subject and the above links can also lead you in the right direction. Start with a ready made theme and try changing it yourself. You will be amazed at what you can do when someone has done most the work for you.
