Free Youth Baseball Drills

Well there is a very simple answer to the above question, because it's better than PAYING for all the best drills and advice. Everyone knows that hitting is incredibly valuable in all stages of baseball. No matter what age group you fall into, coaches will always find a spot in the lineup for someone who can hit. Although I certainly agree there is much more to the game of baseball, this is just a cold, hard fact. That being said, it is important to do hitting drills constantly, daily if possible, so that you can develop a consistent swing that allows you to focus on what's really important when you step into the batter's box...HITTING THE BALL!

Here are some fun, simple hitting drills that will keep your swing up to it's full potential:

1. Tee Drill- An oldie but a goodie (excuse the Casey Kasem phrase, I apologize), practice moving the tee around so that you are hitting the ball all over the zone. High and away, low and in, it's important to cover the whole zone.

2. Wiffle Ball Drill- Go to Wal-Mart and purchase a small bag of tiny wiffle balls, you can get a bag with quite a few in it for around $10. Then have someone throw the tiny balls to you and see how squarely you can hit them. This is great for hand-eye coordination in direct relation to hitting.

3. Real Batting Practice- Get a bucket of balls and have someone stand behind an L-screen and pitch them to you. This is fun but it is important that you don't just try to crush the ball as far as you can. Try to hit line drives to all parts of the field.

Absolutely. You just have to be patient and give them some time to help. These drills will certainly help you form a more consistent swing but it also takes proper instruction to make sure you're swing is mechanically correct.
