About The Following YouTube Layouts

I'd like to give everyone a little background information about these YouTube backgrounds(no pun intended). I(Josiah Staggs) created these backgrounds using Photoshop CS3. I use a little addon for Firefox to help me match colors. It goes by the name of ColorZilla. You'll notice that these backgrounds have a little branding on them, please DO NOT remove it, this is my bread and butter. You are, however, allowed to edit the image if you would like to add some text or what not. Thanks!

The Fundamentals of becoming a HIT on YouTube

  1. A Purpose, what is your channel about? It's often better to try and find something nobody else is doing, instead of doing what everyone else is doing.
  2. A decent camera(no crappy webcams, search YouTube if you need help!)
  3. Audio is very important, by yourself a mic that sounds good. Find a video on YouTube that seems to have great audio, ask the user what type of mic he/she has.
  4. Proper lighting, don't sit in the dark or have the backgreound blown out by a window. Take the time to play with lighting.
  5. Speech. It's extremely important, speak loud, enthusiastic and with energy. Going over the top can annoy users though. We all know someone who can be over the top with this.. *cough* fred *cough*
  6. Be prepared for a video, know what your going to say or do. This doesn't mean that EVERYTHING has to be planned, but at least make bullets or sections so that if you get lost or forget you can refer to general points that you want to make during the video.
