Chimene Badi

I love Chimene Badi's voice. Her new album, Gospel & Soul explores Soul and Gospel musical influences. The song "Parlez-moi de lui" incorporates bits of the Motown Hit, "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."

Amel Bent  

The Nouvelle Star alum Amel Bent is back with her fourth studio album, Delit Minuer. Here's the first single, "Je reste."

French singer Raphaele Lannadere, who goes by the stage name "L," is getting rave reviews for her first full-length French album, Initiale.

Her delicate songs have an air of old French cabaret style, which explains why the critics are all over it. (They love anything that's a throwback to classic French forms of music.) Here's the first single, "Jalouse."

2011 was definitely the year of French actress-slash-singer. Last year, we enjoyed albums by actresses Claire Keim, Elisa Tovati, and Inglorious Basterds' Melanie Laurent.
