History of Posters
Jules Cheret, Toulouse Lautrec and the first French Poster
Posters have been used throughout the years for multiple purposes: Advertisements, politics, announcements, propaganda, music concerts, films etc.
Jules Cheret created a new technique for litography and he is known as the first to make sexual advertisements. Famous artists like Toulouse Lautrec created posters that were soon decorating the streets of Paris.
Posters, today, are still as popular as they were back then and collectors would pay thousands of dollars for a classic.

Decorating with posters, the new fashion
Framed posters would make a wonderful gift for family and friends
Decorating with posters has become the new fashion. Personally, I have sold Photography Posters, in different sizes, to hotel chains and restaurants that use them to decorate rooms, dining and public areas.
Decorate your home and office with French Photography Posters or give them as a gift to family and friends. Framed posters like this Parisian View, would make a great gift for every occasion around the year. You can find this poster at Photo Mall in Zazzle.
Fashion and Beauty French Posters
A poster collection
When we think about Paris, the words fashion and beauty always come to mind. It is home the most famous designer names and fashion brands in the world. On these images, I tried to capture beauty expressions through different images that are among my favourite photographs.
In the first image, a woman walks by a Poster Advertisement at the Subway Station in Paris. Her hand on her hair is as if she was compering herself with the lady on the poster.

Beaute - Beauty Paris Poster by Photo_mall
This second image of a magazine stand on the Champs Elysées, shows Summertime in Paris. French people walking by they fashion as a part of their everyday life and have made of it a way of living.
Posters of Paris, La Ville-Lumiere
Paris by Night
Paris City of Lights
Paris was named the City of Lights (La Ville-Lumiere) in 1928, when the city government installed gas lamps all along The Champs Elysées. It was the first city in the world to use street lighting. Some people say the name is also because Paris was considered the most important city for education "enlightment". Today Paris is the World Capital of fashion, elegance, history, art, traditions and cuisine.
In the Paris Poster, below, you can appreciate the beautiful Parisian Lights, just as Artology did when he captured this photograph.
Beverlytazange's photo of the Arc de Triomphe, on the Champs Elysées in Paris, is the perfect example of why Paris has been named "The City of Lights".
Etenin's Gare d´Orsay Print shows the lovely reflection of the light on the water.
Create your Photographic Posters with the beautiful Nikon D3100
The first Nikon's D-SLR camera that takes HD Video
Don't miss anything while you travel. As a Nikon user, I recommend the D3100. It allows you to take HD Videos at 1080p. It has a wide ISO range that can be extended up to 12800. It is a lightweight camera, easy to use and to carry around. Additional editing software included in the box.
Panoramic Paris Posters
Beautiful French posters to decorate your walls
Paris has several high points from which you can take panoramic photos of this beautiful city: The Eiffel Tower, The Arc du Triomphe, Notre Dame, and more.
I took this Parisian View from the Ferris Wheel at the Place de la Concorde. You can find it as poster at my Photo Mall shop at Zazzle
This stunning photograph of Paris at Night by BluePlanet, shows a magnifiscent view of the glowing Eiffel Tower. You can see its size in proportion to the other buildings.
A gorgeous View from the Arc de Triomphe by MCG. Another fantastic point in Paris, from which you can take beautiful panoramic images.
Photogbrett captured a breathtaking View of Paris from the Eiffel Tower.
Montmartre in Posters
Where the classic French posters were created
Montmartre is located in the northern side of Paris. Many artists have captured it on canvas, and many others lived and had their studio there like Dali, Picasso, Monet. and Van Gogh. I tried to create my own art by capturing French Art through my camera lens.
Montmartre's most famous landmark is the Basilique du Sacre Coeur, but is also wekk known for its Cabarets.
Great Posters from other French Cities
Travel around France with French posters
Photographers and artists always find that special details to photograph or to paint when traveling around France. Window and door decorations, gardens, flowers, streets or city views. Below you will find a selection of wonderful posters from other cities in France.
Susan Moss found these details when she took this photograph of Rural France.
As walking around other cities in France, you will find their love for nature, flowers and gardens, as Xtinec1, Christine in Zazzle, did when she captured these Trailing Roses.
French love decorating their windows with beautiful pots and flowers. Moonrisings saw the beauty of these decorations and captured these Window Pots that make a beautiful sight for people passing by.
Another beautiful photograph by Susan Moss, shows the beauty of Spring in Tournon France.
Londie captured the elegance and details of French architecture on this beautiful Windows of France Street Scene poster.

This Rainy Afternoon in Montpellier poster, that almost looks like a painting, was created by MissBuffy. You can see how even rain adds a very sophisticated light, creating a lovely scene. All season are perfect fro visitn France.
Old French streets also have their own flavor and have been photographic and painting subjects for many artists around the world. Barrieb created a wonderful piece of art when she took this street in Aix en Provence.

Joy of Life in Posters
French traditions around the table
French enjoy life; lunchtime is a very important part of the day. They like eating good food at a well set table, but most important, they enjoy the several hours chat with friends and family; enjoying a good glass of wine, cheese and bread. So it is not all about the food but the company.
Mid-morning or mid-afternoon are both perfect times for a good cup of coffee with friends and have a nice talk as you watch people passing by. No take-out coffee. Just sit and relax, no worries. If you are by yourself, enjoy your coffee with bread or delicious pastries as you read the newspaper.

- High Five! :) Such a beautiful collection of photographic posters from around France. I know Paris is popular but it's lovely to see photography from the rest of France. It's a big country with so much more to see than the Eiffel Tower! All of these are wonderful images but the one by Susan Moss of Tournon in Spring is simply enchanting. Adore the French Cafe poster too!
