On the 10th of August 1792 the monarchy was abolished, Marie Antoinette and the french royal family were imprisoned in the Temple Prison in Paris, then on the 21st January 1793, King Louis XVI was executed, Marie Antoinette followed on 16 October 1793 when she was tried, convicted of treason, and executed by guillotine.
