- I like to add a little vanilla extract as well as fenugreek seasoning. The fenugreek gives it a maple flavoring.

- French toast is a delicious weekend breakfast treat for me. I like to use fresh challah bread and a mix of honey and maple syrup for the sauce. A little dash of cinnamon gives it a nice little kick too.

- My secret is that, as a Belgian, I prepare the original recipe: milk, beaten eggs, frying sliced bread is a very small amount of butter and then spread icing sugar on the fried slices. That's it.
Why do they add butter on the sliced once cooked? It's horrible! And so bad for the health!
By the way, the original recipe is called "pain perdu"; which could translate into "leftover bread" or so ;)
Excellent recipe page!
