    French toast is my yummy breakfast treat. I found a way to use the bread loaf ends...convert it to french toast. The more stale it is...the better toast it makes.

    Being from the UK, I have heard of, but never tried french toast. Sounds good though! Will try this very soon. ...again another "lens like"! Keep up the good work

    I only fix french toast occasionally...not because I don't like it...but because I do like it, way too much. I make mine from french bread loaves. I buy a long loaf, slice it up and freeze it. Then I take out one of two at a time to cook. It's a good breakfast treat.

    I'm a little red in the face here.... I have a confession to make: I eat French toast for breakfast almost every morning! I LOVE IT!!! I use a whole wheat bread, and usually only one slice. I use one large egg, liquid eggs and lowfat milk, so it's not fattening or too high in carbs. I use a low-sugar syrup sparingly with lowfat butter. I'm trying to be good, really I am!! Can't you tell? Yup, I gotta have that French toast (almost) every morning. :-}

    My husband makes breakfast. If he had his way we'd eat French Toast every weekday. We compromised when we got married; he makes oatmeal every other day, and omelets on the weekend. I love to put a bit of vanilla into the mixture before I cook mine...

    I use ciabata bread... probably not as healthy as whole wheat but it sure tastes good.
  • riff999 Sep 15, 2010 @ 1:38 am | delete
    I will have to try the OJ idea. Sounds like it could be good. Kudos on another fine lens.

    Nice work! I can never get past the syrup, it's too good, or I'd try putting fresh fruit on french toast.
  • Pastiche Feb 26, 2009 @ 8:03 am | delete
    We have French Toast 3 times a week - it's my hubby's favorite dish, and he cooks breakfast. I add a bit of vanilla to the egg and milk when I make it. Yum!

    Great lens! I love French Toast! I add vanilla in the batter and garnish with orange zest and bit of powdered sugar for a gourmet touch when company's coming. Oh, and a nice loaf of sourdough makes a tasty French toast, too. And, a restaurant I worked at made if from cinnamon rolls sliced in half.

I love to cook but I don't like to do the dishes; luckily I have a dishwasher... and a husband.
