Fresh Squid Graduation Class February 2010

Ranked #22,974 in Culture & Society, #473,442 overall

New People, New Lenses, New Ideas

They came to Squidoo by luck, looking for a way to achieve their goals, as different as they might be. When they came, they brought a knowledge with them. This knowledge they shared with us and the rest of the world through lenses they created. They came to learn. And now they graduated!

Say hi! And say congratulations!

Cool lens. My brother found squidoo somewhere and invited me to join...almost 4 years ago!
  • Kapalbility May 20, 2010 @ 12:22 pm | delete
Found squidoo though a blogger named Suzanne Franco. She was my very first mentor who, encouraged me to earn online. How I met her? Through Twitter.

Found Squidoo through an affiliate marketing course which had make a Squidoo lens as one of its exercises. I fell in love with Squidoo and have been doing this ever since.

What Was the Hardest Thing...

You had a trouble with after joining?

What gave you headache?

  • Kapalbility May 20, 2010 @ 12:23 pm | delete
Content writing! I was not very good in word crafting.
  • ComeJam Apr 14, 2010 @ 5:58 am | delete
Finding Copyright free pictures that were good enough for my lenses. It can be a real struggle when doing an obscure topic. My advice here is definitely to carry around a small camera. (Even a phone with a 5+ MP camera should do it).
  • AndyDad Apr 12, 2010 @ 9:57 pm | delete
Figuring out HTML and finding good pictures.

What's Your Next Lens is Going to Be About?

Do you have a lens in your head waiting to come on?

  • Kapalbility May 20, 2010 @ 12:23 pm | delete
A cover band named boyce avenue
  • ComeJam Apr 14, 2010 @ 6:02 am | delete
    My next lens will probably be about meningitis particularly early identification of this horrible disease. The main reason is I have seen the affects it can have on peoples lives from deafness to death the implications of this brain infection are truly horrible;

If You Had a Power....

... what would you change on Squidoo?

Is there something that you think could be improved?

  • Kapalbility May 20, 2010 @ 12:24 pm | delete
I'd make the My Lens module do-follow!
  • ComeJam Apr 14, 2010 @ 6:05 am | delete
Maybe a new text based editor, I know that some people find it difficult to add pictures and links and text formatting if they don't know HTML. I would also like to see lenses with incorrect information that could be dangerous removed to make Squidoo an even more reputable source.
  • AndyDad Apr 12, 2010 @ 9:59 pm | delete
Make it easier to create links

From Your Experience - Where to Start...

.. what would you suggest to new Squids...

Things to look after and look for...

  • Kapalbility May 20, 2010 @ 12:25 pm | delete
Squidu! It is chock full of experts rabidly waiting to help newbies!
  • ComeJam Apr 14, 2010 @ 6:07 am | delete
Find a topic you are truly passionate about. Find something you either know a great deal about or want to know a lot more about because although your lenses are intended to teach others you learn a hell of a lot of information along the way. I would also recommend that you use the Squidu community, not just to advertise your own lenses but to have some truly great discussions and debates.
  • AndyDad Apr 12, 2010 @ 10:01 pm | delete
Do your research and collect up all your pictures, HTML, and text information before starting your lens. It's much quicker to then put it all together.
