    Lovely idea to help newcomers to get some exposure. We surely need some encouragement -- and I'm happy to see that many Squids still remember and can relate to that. I feel very tempted to submit my first lens right here and now, but I have a critical flaw: I'm a perfectionist. So, I guess I'll be seeing you around with an even better one - the soonest possible. Keep up the good work!

    This was very helpful, since I just started and don't really know what I'm doing. I'm a bit hesitant to participate in the forums though, since in my experience forums, even ones that claim to be friendly, are full of fights. Hopefully Squidoo will prove to be different. Thanks :)

    If you were told to start your own thread, I suspect person who told you this meant for you to start a thread on SquidU (our official forum) and ask a question that bugs you. You should post it in Hep, please section if it's of technical nature. http://www.squidu.com/

    Hi! I wish to have this lens when I started, I am not a beginner anymore, but I am not on top as well, I still work hard to make it.

    I wish this lens was around when I first started! This will help those who feel a bit lost in squidoo. I know it can be a bit intimidating for some of the people new here, but this lens should give them some focus.

    I first saw snippits of this in the Forum when someone wanted to know why they were denied acceptance in Group. I read that thread, so this was the next logical place to come to. Wish I had known about Squid U in the beginning, but that's OK...I have been reading tons, and trying to learn in order to make my lenses an asset to the community. I've just never been a good cut and paste type of person LOL :)

    Thank you for responding to my "Critique Me" post. I'd love to join, if I'm accepted! Hmm ... I'm looking for a place to request being part of the group. Maybe I stayed up too late (*rubbing eyes*), adding more images to my text-heavy lenses per some good feedback. Now, to add some rescue videos to my Search & Rescue lens. Then I think it'll be ready for consideration.

    Thanks for the feedback on my first lens that I posted in the 'Critique Me' forum - also, thanks for the invite to the Fresh Squid Group. Prior to my submission to the group, I will add the content that was recommended in the feedback. This is a nice lense and offered links to helpful sites for additional tips.

    Your lens is still in WIP as it seams! After next update you will be able to add it to groups! But since acceptance into Fresh Squid Group is moderated, I'll approve your lens when I see that it followed the rules listed here!

    Very good idea! I've recently visited some poorly done Lenses that could have benefited by following your rules for submission. Better to learn early, and get some positive feedback!
