Disc Golf Is Fun!

I remember inventing our own Frisbee golf in our campground. We picked out which trees would be the holes and we determined how far apart they would be by the distance that "looked just right".We used regular Frisbees and played for hours. Now "Disc Golf" has taken Frisbee golf from the backyard to the Professional Disc Golf Association and Flying Disc magazine.

When disc golfing for the first time, I noticed players carrying a shoulder bag. Curious, I watched. These disc players had numerous sizes of discs in their bag. I only had one disc I bought from a gas station near the course. I found out that there were specialty discs by gram size for driving and putting. I had a few things to learn.

This is a great outdoor sport anybody can play and doesn't cost a fortune for golf clubs.

#1 Find a disc golf course near you to play on. A good source for this is the course locater in the External Links section.

#2 Get yourself a set of discs. An initial set usually consists of a Driver, a Mid-range and a Putter. Getting these can be done several ways. There are a few select courses that have pro shops, some that even rent discs. However, this is the exception and not the rule, so it is advised to find a local retailer (Dick's and Sams carry discs) or purchase online. A good way to do this is on the Innova Discs website, or Discraft, or any of the retailers linked in the External Links section.
