    I agree, you do need to watch your unit pricing at ANY retailer. Amazon is like any other, some items are a bargain in comparison to local retailers and some are not. The real savings at Amazon are there monthly specials and coupons. Most monthly specials are considerably less on a cost per unit basis than warehouse stores and discount stores when you do the pricing. The discontinued products sales that Amazon runs are hard to beat as well. I've found gourmet coffee at $2 per pound, cereal at under $.75 per box and many other items at 75% or more off full retail pricing.

    Like any other store, it pays to know your pricing. You can not assume it's a deal just because it's "on sale."

    Careful, make sure you compare prices to you local grocer. I've found many of the items on Amazon are twice the cost per unit than my local BJ's. Free shipping is great but you'll still pay for the convenience.
