Healthy Smoothies Can Clear Up Skin

I don't know about you, but I thoroughly enjoy an ice cold, fresh fruit smoothie. I used to buy smoothies at Smoothie King, Jamba Juice, and Bread Co. but those can contain extra sugar and they can get pretty pricey. I've found that whipping up a homemade smoothie is simple, quick, and pretty inexpensive. You'll probably have most of the ingredients in your kitchen already anyway! I'll provide some great recipes that you can adjust based on your personal preferences.
A bonus to these smoothies: they are excellent for your skin!

Flax seed is so good for you! I found out about it back when I was researching how to get better, clearer skin but there are so many health benefits from flax seeds. WebMD says that flax seeds are "one of the most powerful foods on the planet" and can reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. They're starting to gain popularity and are now added into a lot of different foods. Flax seeds contain Omega-3 essential fatty acids, fiber, and lignans (plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities). I've added them to muffins, cereal, oatmeal, and now smoothies! I can't ever really taste them, but it makes me feel great knowing I'm eating a bit healthier because of them. I buy the travel packs so I can just pour one package into the blender for a smoothie.
