Flax seed is so good for you! I found out about it back when I was researching how to get better, clearer skin but there are so many health benefits from flax seeds. WebMD says that flax seeds are "one of the most powerful foods on the planet" and can reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. They're starting to gain popularity and are now added into a lot of different foods. Flax seeds contain Omega-3 essential fatty acids, fiber, and lignans (plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities). I've added them to muffins, cereal, oatmeal, and now smoothies! I can't ever really taste them, but it makes me feel great knowing I'm eating a bit healthier because of them. I buy the travel packs so I can just pour one package into the blender for a smoothie. Add flax seed to your smoothies

Smoothie Blenders
Triple Berry Banana Smoothie

- Serves: 1-2 8 oz. glasses
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 10 minutes
I make one of these almost every day and it's delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain all-natural yogurt
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/2 banana (fresh or frozen)
- 1 handful blackberries
- 1 handful raspberries
- 1 handful blueberries
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 packet flax seed
- 1 cup orange juice
Instructions
Rinse berries, measure out ingredients, and place everything into blender. Blend on high for about a minute. Pour into glass and enjoy!
Strawberry Banana Smoothie

- Serves: 1-2 8 oz. glasses
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain all-natural yogurt
- 2 bananas (fresh or frozen)
- 8-10 strawberries
- 1-2 tbsp. honey
- 1/2 cup milk
- dash of cinnamon
- 1 packet flax seed
Instructions
Cut bananas in half so they are easier to blend. Cut tops of strawberries and wash. Put ingredients in blender and blend on high for about a minute. Pour into glass and enjoy!
Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
If you don't like peanut butter, I wouldn't recommend this. But for all you peanut butter lovers out there, you're going to absolutely love this! I like peanut butter okay and I even thought it was great.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain all-natural yogurt
- 2 bananas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet flax seed
- 2 tbsp. peanut butter
- 1 tbsp. honey (optional)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes. Pour into glass and enjoy!
Raspberry Avocado Smoothie

I haven't personally tried this smoothie, but it sounds delicious. Avocado is excellent for your skin.
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- peeled and pitted
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup raspberry juice
- 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
Instructions
Blend ingredients in blender on high until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
Green Smoothie
