"To have a great idea, have a lot of them." - Thomas A. Edison
Thomas Edison's favorite invention was the phonograph. Although he invented several improvements to other products, Edison's phonograph was the first machine that could capture and replicate sound. So, Edison could proudly claim ownership to this machine, which he invented in 1877.

Alum Crystals
(or whatever you want to grow crystals from - salt, sugar, etc)

- Total Time: 2-3 weeks
Crystals are a fun way for little ones to feel like master scientists! Each crystal, especially if made from different materials, is unique and beautiful - worthy of display in prominent places in a bedroom or on a bookshelf.
Ingredients
- 4 oz Alum Powder (available at grocery store)
- 1 pint water
Instructions
Pour water into a saucepan. Add alum powder. Gently heat the mixture and stir it to dissolve the powder. Then add as much alum powder as you can until no more will dissolve. Let the mixture cool, then pour some of the mixture into a separate bowl. Pour the remaining mix into a glass jar. Stir an extra tablespoon of alum into the jar to make a saturated solution. Cover the jar with a cloth.
After a few days, small crystals should start to grow in the bowl. Leave them until all the solution has evaporated then choose the biggest as your seed.
Carefully tie a long thread around the seed crystal and tie the other end around a pencil. Hang the crystal in the solution by balancing the pencil across the jar. Store the jar in a warm place. The crystal should grow for about two weeks. When it stops growing, take it out of the jar and wrap it in a piece of tissue or leave it out to display your new creation!

- The great thing about watching babies learn is that everything is a wonderful discovery to them. Unfortunately as we grow up we start to take things for granted. You have some great ideas here.

- A baby's world is ever expanding when it tries to discover every thing through its touch and then experiment, surely it is so anxious and excited to explore the world in his/her own way. Nicely deciphered the world of the infant and kids in this lens.
