Growing Bonsai from seeds takes longer that using cuttings, but this method can lead to a huge amount of satisfaction and pride when the seeds become full grown.
You can also have seed parties or organize seed trades where you and a bunch of other Bonsai gardeners get together and trade seeds between them. This could also grow into a Bonsai exchange later after they have grown!
