In MLM, the difference is that a successful proposal involves much less money than a diamond ring would.

Basically, you're offering your prospects an up-front opportunity to get an idea of what you as an expert has to offer; how you would kill your prospect's pain; and why should they trust you.

What? Is There Anything Else to Offer My Leads Other Than My Bizop?

Yes, of course!!

Instead of throwing your biz opportunity at your prospects and expecting them to jump in the nuptial bed with you, which is how most marketers propose their businesses, a successful funded proposal begins with an inexpensive, value-packed offer that would ease your prospects towards you.

Imagine this: you invest your hard-earned money, creativity and time into generating traffic to your website, and what do you propose your visitors?

"join me on my team, we're awesome and you'll get rich!"

Your visitor has only two choices: join you or go back to Google search.

With a funded proposal, here's what you're saying:

"join me on my team, we're awesome and you'll get rich! Check out this 10-day training that proves we can do it"

Much different, isn't it?

From the prospect point-of-view, your offer is a small window to a much bigger, profitable, and inspiring opportunity. They have the chance to "test-drive" your knowledge, your leadership, and your experience, for a small fee.

For the business owner, a well-established funded proposal increases his chances of attracting customers (test-drives do sell), gives instant credibility in the eyes of your prospects, but more importantly, it generates revenue enough to cover advertising, and let's face it, things get a lot easier when you don't really have to worry about the AdWords bill.

What does Cow Manure Have To Do With Funded Proposals?

A lesson from a local farmer

As I drove by, I noticed a gentleman shoveling the manure into these huge bags, and it took me an instant to realize what was his purpose - I'm no farmer, and know nothing about gardening.

Finally, it struck me: he was collecting manure to sell as fertilizer! Darn if I'm not a city boy!

Even though my gardening skills are none, my business mind started working immediately. That farmer was about to turn a profit out of (pardon my French) CRAP! Of course, his business was not devoted to selling fertilizer, he sells milk and delicious homemade cheeses in the local farmers' market. Nonetheless, he'd found an alternative source of income from excrements!



To make the transition to network marketing, relate the manure alternative income to what a Funded Proposal offer is: it's a secondary income stream derived from your main Cash Cow. It originates from your primary business, it is an important source of income, but it should not require much of your attention. Like any real source of income, a funded proposal works passively, in the background.

The most effective way to present any offer lies within your regular Cash Cow operations:

* a test-drive of your opportunity: a how-to guide, an initial procedures document - a "taste"

* bonus training: "before you start, you can learn a lot from this course" - either yours or somebody else's - that's when subtle affiliate promotions work best
