How to Conduct a Profitable Fundraiser for Your Organization
As a member of a group or organization who needs to fundraise how do you choose a fundraiser and then make sure that all goes according to plan and that you are able to raise your needs funds effectively? Here are some ideas to help in the process and some steps to follow to ensure your success.
1. Assess your needs- How much money do you need to raise and by when? How many people are available to help you?
2. Determine what kind of a fundraiser you are going to do. Are you going to sell something? Host an event or a combination of the two?
3. Do some research. What kinds of products could you sell for the most profit or what kind of event or combo could you do that would attract the most interest and generate the most profit?
4. Get some information from a few different individuals or companies who offer fundraisers.
5. Discuss the options with the members who would be doing the selling or hosting the event.
6. Choose your product or event.
7. Decide how long you are going to run your fundraiser for and make sure you have a solid agreement between you, your members, the provider of the products or anyone else who is involved.
8. Conduct the fundraiser.
9. Make sure if you are selling something that you know how long it will take to get your products, who the checks are made out to and have a delivery plan worked out.
10. End the fundraiser and get the products delivered.
11. Evaluate what went well and what needs to be changed for next time.
