Fun Kids Crafts
For great easy kids crafts ideas you can have a look at Fun Kids Crafts
Sometimes we forget that our children are viewing the world from a different place than us. We must not forget the simple things that are ordinary to us. I was reminded of it on Friday when my granddaughter was all exited about buying jelly in an orange peel at their school's market day. That made me realize that making those can actually be a fun cooking craft for her. The Fun Kids Crafts e-book has some very good edible crafts like making a pretty tea cup & saucer.

Fun Kid's Crafts: Fun Beach Bag And Hat Summer Craft
Kids Summer Crafts Fun
This is one of our kid's summer crafts that the kids can actually use once they have made it. It may even be a good idea to throw a "School Is Out" party in the backyard and let every kid make their own beach bag and hat. The straw beach bags and the baseball hat can be bought very cheaply at discount stores. You should be able to get the flowers cheap as well if you look at craft stores for flowers that do not have stems on. These flowers are usually marked down and are therefore much cheaper. The end result of this kid's summer craft is amazingly pretty and the little girls will love it. The little ones also love the idea of making something they can actually use. You will have a fashion parade on your hands! This is what you need for this summer craft:
- A straw bag
- A baseball hat
- Craft glue
- Craft scissor
- Fabric scissor
- 14 Inches of 1" wide green grosgrain ribbon to make the leaves
- 12 Inches of ½ "wide green polka dot grosgrain ribbon
- 9 Inches of 7/8" wide green polka dot grosgrain ribbon
- A craft stick
- A Needle
- Green sewing thread
- A ribbon bumblebee
- A ribbon ladybug
- 4 Silk flowers (you will place three flowers on each bag, so keep the size of the bag in mind when you choose the flowers, they must not be too small or too large)
This is how you do this summer craft
Making the leaves:- Using your fabric scissor cut your 1" green ribbon into three equal parts
- Thread and not your needle with the thread
- Fold each ribbon double making sure the short ends match
- Gather stitch along one of the long edges through both layers of your ribbon
- Now you pull the thread to gather the ribbon and knot it secure
- Trim off any extra thread
- Turn the ribbon outside in and form the leaf.
Making the summer beach bag:
- Using your crafts scissor trim the stems off your flowers if they have stems on
- With your craft stick apply glue onto the back of three of your flowers
- Press the flower onto the bag, anywhere you want them, for a minute or two
- Using your craft stick again, apply glue to the back of your leaves and place them on the bag, just under the flowers and cross ways to where you will glue the "stems" on
- Press the leaves down for a minute or two
- Using your fabric scissor again, cut your ¼ " wide ribbon into 3 equal lengths
- Using these ribbons as your stems, glue them onto your bag. Placing the one end under the flower and letting one edge go over the beginning of your leaves so that it appears as if the leaves are coming out of the stem and also to neaten it up
- With your craft stick apply glue onto the bumblebee and place it anywhere on your bag
- Press down on the bumblebee for a minute or two
How to make your hat for this kid's summer craft:
- Make two gathered leaves as above with your 7/8" wide polka dot ribbon
- With your craft stick apply glue onto the back of the other flower
- Place it onto the center of the hat, just above the rim, and press down for a minute or two
- Now, using your craft stick, apply glue onto your leaves and place them so that the beginning is under the flower on each side.
- Press down for a minute or two
- With your craft stick, apply glue to the underside of the ladybug and place it on the hat above the flower.
- Press down for a minute or two.
- Now you have to let everything dry for about two hours.
You are now ready to hit the beach with your fashionable and beautiful beach bag and hat!
This is one of our kid's summer crafts that the little girls really love. Allow them to use their imagination with the placing of the flowers so that each bag is unique. Have fun!

Fun Kids Crafts: Make An Easy Bird Feeder
Kid's Summer Crafts
Caution: As a sharp knife is used, this craft must be done with adult supervision.
What you need:
- A large clean plastic soda bottle (in South Africa we'll use the 2L one)
- Some very strong string
- A stick about double the length of the diameter of your bottle (not too thin because the birds must sit on it)
- A sharp knife
- Wild-bird seed or homemade bird food
How to do this kid's summer craft:
- Make a hole in the screw top of the soda bottle.
- Thread a piece of string through it and make a big knot on the inside so that the string is secured on the screw top.
- Cut a square hole into the bottle about 4 inches from the bottom and up to where the neck of the bottle starts.
- Cut a second hole opposite the first one, leaving two panes on both sides of the holes that are about 2 inches wide.
- Make a few small holes in the bottom of the bottle to prevent any water accumulating in the bottle if it rains. The holes must be small enough to prevent any of your bird food dropping through it.
- Now you have to make two holes, about 2 inches down from the big square holes, to put the stick through, right under the holes, so that the birds can sit on the stick to feed inside the feeder. Make sure the holes are just big enough for the stick to fit very tight, otherwise the stick will fall out when the birds try to sit on it.
- Screw the top back on and your bird feeder is now ready for you to hang it on a tree, high enough so that the birds can feed from it with ease.
- Fill the bottom of the feeder with wild bird seeds or homemade bird food.
- Remember to take the feeder of everyday, by screwing it from the top, and washing it. The feeder must be kept clean at all times.
- You can even make a second one, without the holes in the bottom, to put water in for the birds.
This is one of our kid's summer crafts that show you how a very simple idea can be used to entertain the kids. With this bird feeder they will be able to spend a lot of time outdoors, watching the birds feed. You can also use this kid's summer craft to teach the kids about all the birds that visit your garden.
Searching for kid's crafts can be so time consuming. It can also be very frustrating if you do not have a lot of time. You may feel that you would much rather spend the time actually doing crafts. Well, I have good news, there is a very good kids crafts e-book Fun Kids Crafts that has crafts for all occasions and that is instantly available. Download Lots Of Crafting Fun With Fun Kids Crafts!
Bible Crafts For Kids
- Bible Crafts For Kids
- I have been participating in a community project today and to my surprise I learned something very valuable. Bible crafts do not have to be very complicated or 'new.' A simple craft, a collage like we did today, can really be fun and get everyone working together.
Fun Kids Crafts: "Magic White" Painting Kids Craft
Little kids love this first craft .
Here we have one of our fun kids crafts the can double up as an easy science project for homeschoolers. The basis for this fun kids craft is to show the kids that wax is water resistant. When doing this kids craft, let the kids give there imagination free reign. This is what you need for this fun kids craft:
- Thick white paper
- White wax crayons
- Water paint in whatever colors you desire
- Paint brushes
The "how to" of this craft:
Doing this craft is very easy and the kids can basically do whatever they want. The idea of the craft is that the kids draw a painting on the white paper, with the white wax crayons, draw their attention to the fact that they cannot see their white drawing on the white paper. When they have completed their drawing they cover the whole piece of paper with the water paint and then they will be able to see their painting. All that remains to be done now is for them to place their painting in dry warm place to dry. Use this opportunity to point out the water resistant properties of wax.
Always having to spend hours looking for kids crafts seems like such a waste of time. Time spent looking for the crafts could have been spent doing the crafts with the kids. To solve your problem I recommend that you get a good crafts e-book such as Fun Kids Crafts. The crafts in this excellent e-book can be adjusted to suit the level of each kid and they can be done over and over again.

Fun Kids Crafts: Tropical Reef Painting Kid's Arts.
This one is a little more advanced for the kids that want more of a challange
This craft is a more elaborate variation on the "magic white" craft above. In this craft the kids are going to make a drawing of a tropical, coral reef with different colors wax crayons and then they are going to paint over it with the water paint. What you will need for this kid's craft:
- Thick white paper
- Wax crayons
- Water paint
How to do this craft:

- With a dark wax crayon draw rocks on your paper.
- On some of the rocks draw some seaweed.
- Using wax crayons with bright colors draw corals on the rocks. It might be a good idea to search for pictures of coral reefs to give the kids an idea of what it looks like, it should not be a problem finding it on the internet.
- Draw some circles in the bigger corals.
- Draw lots of different tropical fish swimming around the rocks.
- Draw stripes and spots on them; remember anything you want to be white, use the white wax crayons.
- With your white you can also draw a white jellyfish.
- Where the water is going to be, draw lots of white bubbles.
- Now using your water paint, paint the see.
As you can see, with this craft the only limit is your imagination. This is one of our fun kids crafts that the kids love doing and they learn so much by dong it. I hope you will all enjoy these two fun kids' crafts.
If you are looking for more kids crafts, you can get an excellent e-book such as Fun Kids Crafts and never have to search for crafts again. It saves you wasting hours searching for crafts on the net.

Fun Kids Crafts: Funky Ink Spots Doilies
Fun with coffee filters and felt tipped pens
This craft is once again one of our fun kids crafts that serves a fun science project as well. This fun kids craft shows the kids that ink is made up of different pigments even though it is not visible to the naked eye. The little "doilies" made in this way can then later be used in a decoupage project, a very good example can be found on our site Fun Kids Crafts. This is then once again a method of doing the same craft in a "new" way, as promised. What you need for this fun kids craft:
- Felt tipped pens in different colors (to see that different colors ink is made up of different colors, some more some less.)
- Coffee filters
- Narrow glasses
- A pair of scissors
- A pencil
- Water
How to do this fun kids craft:
- With your pencil draw a circle on the coffee filters by placing your glass on the filter and drawing around the base.
- Using your scissors, cut out this circle through both layer so that you have two circles.
- Now using different color felt tip pens draw a large dot in the middle of each circle.
- Now you place each circle on top of one of your glasses.
- Using your finger, you now drop a drop of water onto each dot.
- Then you drip a few more drops of water on it, but do not soak it to much, just a few drops should do the trick.
- Leave them to dry and observe how the colors separate as they soak into the coffee filter.
- When your "doilies" are dry, use them as you prefer or for the decoupage as suggested above.
Fun Kids Crafts: Tiny Coffee Filter Bookmarks
This is a variation on the coffee filter "doilies" we did above. Use a big coffee filter to get a bigger bookmark. It is also best to have the bookmark laminated afterwards. In that case only punch the hole in it afterwards and only then put the ribbon in.What you need for this fun kids craft:
- A Coffee filter
- Two felt tipped pens of your choice
- Two narrow glasses
- Two pencils
- A ruler
- Sticky tape
- A pair of scissors
- Decorative ribbons
- A hole punch
- Water
How to do this fun kids craft:
- With your ruler and pencil draw the outlines of a bookmark on your coffee filter.
- Cut out your bookmark through both layers of your coffee filter (you now have two bookmarks that you can make.
- Now, using your two felt tipped pens, make a line of large dots at the one end of your bookmark.
- Pour a little water in your glasses and dip your bookmarks in the water for a minute.
- Using the sticky tape, tape each bookmark onto a pencil and hang it over the glasses to dry.
- Once again observe how the colors separate.
- When your bookmarks are dry, punch a hole in the bottom and tie a piece of decorative ribbon through the hole.
In both these fun kids crafts the kids learn something without realizing it. This must always be the case with crafts; the emphasis must always be on fun.

Very detailed lens! There's so much stuff in here, I may never get around to reading it all or visiting all the recommended links but I like the bird feeder idea. I'm just a bit unsure of where the stick will go and whether it's perpendicular to the plane of the bottle or parallel, but I am willing to try it out and see. I know my nieces would love it if more bird visitors came to our backyard.

in reply to Ralph Thanks for your input. I'm sure my little granddaughter will find it fun!

Margriet,
Congratulations on a great lens that has been put together really well with some wonderful ideas.
A simple craft idea for older children is to make pasta decorated photo frames.
Cut a piece of cardboard or thick card double the size required to frame a photo. Ensure that you allow an extra 5mm all around for a border/frame. Create a horizontal fold by scoring a line halfway up the card and fold it in half. Then cut out the section for the photo.
The children can decorate the frames using pasta shapes held in place by glue. When dry, the frame can be painted in one color, or use imagination and color some of the pasta shapes as well. Glue the photo in the frame and also glue the frame together. Attach a piece of card to the rear of the frame to support the frame.
The new frame can be proudly displayed in the child's bedroom or used as a gift.
Cheers, Ralph

Margrietha,
Your lens is filled with goodies! I, too, am Grandma to three precious little girls. My seventh lens is also about creating cardboard crafts. (When I was a girl, I loved boxes, and so did my kids when they were little.
The crafting years are a special time in a child's life. Thank you for creating a lens with such great references. (LOVE the bird feeder idea!)
