Great Wines with Funny Names ~ New York Finger Lakes Wineries

Since it's inception Bully Hill Vinyards has used original art for it's labels. Then there is the favorite wines named "Love my Goat" and "Space Shuttle Red". Nuff said? :D

Three Brothers Winery and Estates have 3 wine divisions and 1 microbrewery.

Marketed under Bagg Dare Winery, formerly Rogue House, this winery caters, in their own words, to "...those who have a lot more fun in a Dive bar."
Apparently they had issues with the Rogue name, so I'll add another section featuring their wines when their line is updated.

They also have a division called Passion Feet Winery. The following labels are from this line and are the least suggestive wine names.

Their fine (snouty) wine division Stony Lonesome Estates, is admittedly what we'll call high-fallutin' and encourages you to... "feel free to leave your embarrassing relatives at our winery down the hill. We're all dukes and no hazard here". They may be featured on a page in the future.

Three Brother's micro-brewery, the "Soon to Be Legendary War Horse Brewing Company", may also be featured another day on a another page. By the way... the apostrophes in the prior sentence are in the proper place, as this is what is shown on their bottle labels. I have yet to figure out if it is wishful thinking on their part, or they're just determined as an old warhorse. :D

While this winery does have some traditionally named wines, I'm kind of fond of the names of their Red Neck series: Daisy-Moo (won Double Gold at the Indy International Wine Competition), Gravel Gerty, and Uncle Ralph's Rabble Red just to name a few.

Can you believe Cous'n Emmy Lou won at least 2 Gold and Best in Class awards in New York and California competitions.

The Pompous Ass Wine Company, despite their name does have some traditionally named wines such as Chardonnays, and Rieslings, but they also carry a Pretentious Port, a Bodacious Blend, and Highfalutin Red. My favorite line is Kiss My Ass White, Kiss My Ass Blush, and even Kiss My Ass Red, of which my daughter is particularly fond. See Wines available here.
