Whenever you heard a joke (or something funny happened to you) and if it made you laugh, it most certainly made your day.

One possibility is that it made you relief from the everyday stress and loosen you up a bit, or it took a mind of something that made you sad and worried. Or it just spiced up a boring talk you were engaged with.

The most important thing here is that it made you laugh!.

Hearing several jokes or riddles and trying to solve them can really be a challenge. Sometimes is really hard to take all possible meanings and hints in the consideration and that makes you wonder: "How did anyone manage to make these things up?".

Well, jokes don't just come out of nowhere. They are carefully thought through and composed in a sophisticated way in order to be tricky and often misleading. Especially when talking about jokes for teenagers - very often they are clean and appropriate, but they tend to lead to the "dirty side".

Express your own style and develop joke style of your own. One reason is that doing so makes you and your jokes unique - and people love that! Seriously! Everybody knows lots of 'Yo mama jokes', 'Knock knock jokes' and 'Chuck Norris facts', but even if you invent a new one of this kind, the chances are nobody later on will know you wrote it.

For instance, look at Jeff Dunham and his puppets. OK, he might not be the best example at developing something new in the joke industry (and to be honest, his jokes are often a bit dirty and rude), but he definately pushed the ventriloquism to a higher level. He even created several brands with his puppets - almost anyone knows Achmed, the dead terrorist and knows where he comes from.

Another sample would be George Carlin. He is known as one of the grumpiest and the most cynical stand-up comedians. But the interesting part is that his comedy reflects his beliefs - making his style unique and consistent.

I bet everybody knows the funny pictures with a caption wrapped with a black frame. This shape was meant for the motivational posters from the beginning, but a parody of those posters soon hit the market - and was a great success! A company Despair, Inc. has made a great business with collecting and printing these "unmotivational posters".

The popularity of so-called demotivators burst like a forest fire in the last couple of years. A lot of them became (and is still becoming) an "internet meme" because of the various sorts of humor they have. Some are funny, ironic, others are rude and cynical. And some of them simply make no sense.

Internet phenomena or meme is a statement, image, video or anything similar that spread through the internet among other users. Usually the image can be related to something funny (or something that makes no sense, but is found interesting), so it is forwarded to all of the friends and shared via social networks.

One of the most famous meme are Lolcats (and their "broken language"). A Lolcat is just a picture of a cat accompanied by a caption. The text might not make sense in the beginning, but it is often related to a parody of a situation on a picture or even some other meme.

The point of Yo mama jokes is to insult a person by talking trash about his mother which makes the insult much more offensive. The most of the jokes (insults) are based on intelligence, physical appearance, hygiene and other similar topics.

The phrase yourself has quite long history (one of the first mentions was by Shakespeare in Act I Scene 1 of Timon of Athens), and it is not always meant to be offensive. Sometimes is just used to mock rather to insult.

Yo mama is so fat, even Bob the builder said: 'We can't fix it!'

There are many stereotypes which are based on the occupation, nationality, group of people, physical appearance etc.

For instance:
- blondes aren't very bright (similar goes for policemen)
- lawyers tend to manipulate and take advantage of common people
- people from Scotland are very cheap
- Irish people are heavy drinkers

So many jokes originate from these stereotypes. They aren't meant as an insult, but merely for teasing and making fun of.
